I'd be damned if the devs do anything to fix a detail like this when the game barely runs.

I would'nt bet on a community project.
Who here really has the knowledge to code a proper sim engine ? And more importantly, who here is OK to code a new engine without getting paid ? You seem to not realize how huge and time-consuming this task is. I'm not even talking about netcode  and dynamic flight models :-x I'd like to see how the angry ppl here would handle this project :-P so we can compare  |

My specs are AMD Athlon II x2 215, on a crappy ECS motherboard that wont let me overclock it, ATI Radeon HD 5850, 4gb of some random Corsair ram & Win 7 ultimate. With settings medium to high I reach 30-40fps online with all hell breaking loose, and its more than playable. Nothing is overclocked, and most importantly I run my computer and no software tells me what to do, or has crap running in the background. It just takes some effort instead of expecting everything to just fall into place. That's also why options are included. |
see? i was right. i was thinking at the beginning that the plane was a G-2 for a second. :-P

seems the trolls and whiners are running wild with this, and there are no real facts to go by
the most serious problems with CoD have been fixed in the last few months, and since the recent official patch runs very well for most people (for those that have actually tried it, and dont just mindlessly repeat old negative crap which shows their ignorance and lack of knowledge) most work on BoM has already been completed in the last year (remember, its what they were working on for almost 18 months now with a 15 man team while NOT fixing CoD), and BoM could be released early in 2013 to quickly create a new revenue stream with significantly better sales then CoD the main CoD flightsim forums are in the last couple of months again filled with positive user reports and many people are returning to the sim and enjoying the good parts. all that is now needed is for a few of the main flightsim websites to re-evaluate the sim and write a more positive review, and the whole negative saga is behind us :) (doesnt mean there are no bugs left or issues to fix, but most are relatively minor now and can be addressed as part of the final BoM development phase). to abandon BoM now would make no commercial sense at all |

1) Luthier will have been able to show the sequel is viable and able to do as promised(if they have reached the milestone Luthier spoke about a few months back)...and all of this is wild speculation and wide of the mark. 2) The sequel will be announced in good time and we have nothing to worry about. Or what you wrote is not true and the engine is not up to the job, the problems not easily fixable and it doesn't make financial sense to progress the series, which means..... 1) The sequel is canned. 2) The job is handed to another development team and we have a long wait on our hands to get another flight sim. We will know soon enough i guess... |
