I've actually seen that movie, very interesting insight about how the kamikaze operations were prepared and executed. No gung-ho jump in a plane and scream BANZAI!!! on a whim type of thing, more cultural than anything. So much mental preparation and accepting death, very deep stuff, very Japanese. I recommend watching it, with subtitles of your choice of course.:)

P.S However terrible the war was you really start to respect the honor and courage shown by the Japanese airmen after watching this movie. A waste most westerners would think but for the Japanese airmen no greater honor could be achieved then dying for their Emperor and country.

actually dark blue world was quite a decent movie. A bit melodramatic at some time but not that bad.

Good ww2 air combat movies (list not in order of preference):

Battle of Britain
The Tuskegee Airmen (Die Ehre zu Fliegen in German), a real good movie about the red tails.
Memphis Belle

There is an old German movies from the 50s or 60s about Marseille (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Der_Stern_von_Afrika). I haven't watched it.

I didn't like red tails to much talking and didn't like the characters (way of acting) on the other side flyboys and fortress where good.

But yeah for some decent fighter action ill just play my own movie :-P.

Tell that to the winers who paid as much (a ticket for a movie) for their CloD install. :-P

Just watching the intro makes me puke though. Reminds me of war propaganda, just without any reason of existence - or maybe the makers didn't get the news that the war is over.
