Are you shure?
Isn´t the graphical engine been reworked?
That's why some fotage would be great.
I am shure people will have a lot to talk about it.

No, I think it is a common misunderstanding by many people. The way (method) the visuals are 'rendered' is being re-worked; all colours, contrast, bloom, reflections, shadows etc etc will stay the same - unless those values are specifically changed, in this case, it is not the intention of doing so.
It will look exactly the same! Only it will be much more efficient and for us this means more FPS! :)

So we should have some vids showing those promised double framerates compared the existing version.

The proof is in the pudding...

I believe if you just make a movie from the original and edit it so theres no stutters then you will have a good idea of how it looks.

No, the proof is in the patch. People want evidence, they don't want to believe anything they are showing or telling us.

If people don't want to believe anything they are showing or saying, what good does it do them to post a video?

I could be wrong, but believe that had read on past B6's updates, that some graphical aspects, like, colors, effects, had change on the re-write engine.

Sorry, for repeating my self, but a "movie" showing some work will be good for everyone.

If was me to decide, I had release the beta patch, even if bugged, and give people the freedom to try it or not. It´s a beta after all, not the final version.

Imagine that FPS boost is good and online CTD's cured, people would be happy.

Of course this is supposed, that on 13 April, when they made the last tests, every thing was funcional.

159th_Jester 04-30-2012 04:25 PM

Well since we know that since April 13th (dunno why you picked that date) and the end of last week, everything wasn't functional, I don't see how a video is going to help..... Especially since (as others have stated) the changes are under the hood and as such any visual differeces are going to be minor.

The best thing we can do is just wait for the devs to do their thing and keep our fingers crossed that they can squash the bugs quickly..... Then we can all see for ourselves how the new engine runs on our own PC's.

Friday Update, April 13, 2012

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Good day everyone!

We're very glad to announce that the beta patch is largely done. It's going into wide internal testing today, which will last through the weekend and probably a couple of days more. After we make sure nothing is amiss, we'll make the beta patch available to everyone

It was from here. To me sound like patch final stages, final tests, before release.
Anyway, not a big deal for me. I am already enjoing the Sim a lot, the only annoying thing is the multiplayer CTD's.

Regards.
