S!

Can concur, ATAG is a nice server to fly. A Launcher.exe crash now and then, but nothing serious. I rarely use max zoom, rather the middle and far out.

Hello, guys.

I am just posting to let you know that i upgraded from a single 4870 512mb to a 6950 2gb.

Before: Unplayable, lots of stutter no matter the settings. Also low fps..

After: Everything on high, also roads ssao grass ON, i can get 35fps average on black death track. Also, i get no stutter at all. Only very rarely in online games, but that's more like a hiccup than constant stutter.

I am running on a i7 950 stock with 6gb ram and the aforementioned 6950 2gb ati card.

Edit : win7 64bit

one major find for me is the , uncheck of the ingame radio comms, think this is a resource hog atm causing a lot of lag ingame stutters ,

to my suprize when i unchecked this feature in audio options, its greatly reduced this glitch.

...

Where you did it? Ingame or in the conf file? Thanks,

its obvious that its under config ([sound]) since we have very few ingame options under sound in game

I just came back after a long absence and spent time with the sim yesterday.

I've noticed an old trick that helped alleviate stuttering (for me anyway) - which was to disable windows aero. Tested again last night on TBD track and it made quite a difference in smooth rendering - playback.

- Turn windows aero off, by right clicking the "Launcher.exe" in the CoD root directory to select Properties. Select the "Compatibility" tab then check "Disable Desktop Composition" and hit "OK"

If you've done this correctly, when CoD starts you'll get a message from windows saying "The Color Scheme has been changed to Windows Basic"......

To see if this affects you, I'd suggest running "The Black Death" track under your current configuration once - maybe take a fraps benchmark if it's easy. Then Disable Desktop Composition, restart - and run TBD track again. What I see is a signficant change in longer duration stutters or "pulsing" as the track is played back.

Maybe that can help - maybe not - but since this hasn't been posted since April - thought I'd throw it out there. Amazing that there are not more stickies for this sort of thing around (or I'm just blind).

S!

Gunny

Hey Gunny, this does help for me. A slight improvement in fps but more importantly its smoother. Nice one!

Holla guys, i deleted my conf.ini from the 1cSoft folder in the my docs folder (ive never dont this b4) and noticed it made a massive difference for me. Apon restart i jumped online (the only way i play CLoD) and a couple of things things happened:
1. smooth gameplay with default settings created in the new conf.ini - most things on medium settings (except landshading at low, grass and epilepsy filter off which i did manually), which suprised the crud out of me considering i normally have it all on low. Very very smooth.
2. i almost done my load cause id forgotten how awsome it looked :P

anyways, after the usual memory CTD destroyed my fun. i went back in and changed the settings to how i had it before and it couldnt be better. 10fps gain on how it used to be.

Im not sure if it will work for anyone else, but its worth a shot :)
