Any advice how to reinstall .NET 4, DirectX, GDF and VCRedist? |
I've been having the same problem as Stormcrow, fruitbat, PissyChrissy and others. I have a clean install of the game, and am running an ATI 5870, with 8GB of Ram and Vista 64.
The only way around it is to hit Y and N for Yes and No, tabbing your way through things, and eventually, shutting down the game and restarting it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |
I used to get something similar in 1946.
Have you guys tried alt-tabbing out and then clicking on the icon in the taskbar to get back in? |

I am not sure if I got your problem right but I tell you of mine, which I had some month ago by assigning keys. By keybinding I use also the "alt" key which can affecting some other functions more like other keys like "shift" or "ctrl". Further on I made a thing which keeps on pressing down the "alt"-key. When I forget to remove that thing, I have realy bad issues with the game, it's stability and even the OS itself. So if I haven't get you not wrong, just try an other key-assignement? |
To install any program under Microsoft Windows launch the installer by double clicking it. Follow the on-screen instructions.
I would run this checklist: - check game files integrity in Steam - reinstall everything(!) from the \redist\ folder - check in Windows if all Windows updates are installed - close all other programs or services running in the background to see if there is any conflict with them If the above does not help - update all(!) motherboard drivers (chipset, audio, network, etc.) - update all input drivers (mouse, etc.) - remove video drivers with DriverCleaner or Sweeper - install video drivers Check for viruses btw. If the above does not help update motherboard BIOS (read if any critical updates are available) then check for Win updates again and reinstall programs from \redist\ folder again. Check if new versions of all these programs are available at developers' sites, update them. BTW I have the same issue in Battlefield 3 from time to time. Have to use keyboard arrows and enter key till restarting the game :) What a bugfest even for me! (Not compatible even with ATI Tray Tools or Asus OSD or factory overclocked GTX 560Ti cards Ah...) |
I see from other threads you still have the problem.
Have you tried thse simple tests? ...... Move all the .ini files in the 1C Soft Club IL-2 CoD folder to a temporary folder so new ones are generated. Close any other applications. See if that fixes it. If so be very careful of any changes you make in Options. If your mouse has any software assocated with it can you get a simple plain old PS2 mouse, uninstall the Logitech mouse software and try the PS2 mouse to see if its the Logitech software or settings that contain the problem. Also consider if any other applications are controlling or trapping your mouse outputs (e.g. TrackIR can 'trap' key inputs for actions like 'Centre' so that only TIR uses them and they are not passed to any other application. Perhaps an application is trapping your mouseclicks?). Do you have anything else running that also 'programmes' the mouse in some way? There has to be some reason why it works ok for most people but not for you. Have you compared PC/Hardware specs? |
Can I suggest you check any other graphics utility or overlay type programs you may have running and turn them off. These sometimes interfere with the GUI interface.

some other tips JIC if you're at the end of the rope . . .
install in C:\ sometimes winderz guards the program files . . . in non XP os's with vista / win 7 also when reinstalling, do it under admin (also helpful to run it under an account with admin priv) and do the right click and install as admin. I know some installs don't let you do this. Other thing is turn uac off. This wasn't an issue for in CLOD, but for other PC games on our vista 64 server, sometimes after the game starts, a few mins the UAC comes up, and the game's menus are unclickable until I tab out and look at the desk top to click OK I want to freaking let this program make changes. after turning UAC off, the game worked fine. And vista has a glitch that UAC's appls even while your in an admin account. And the handy thing about UAC is on some vista installs, all other PC functions are put on limbo until you ok it (like graphics or even mouse). if possible if nothing works at all, try moving off vista to Win 7. vista just has these little quirks and glitches that just bug, but they were enough for the IT industry to write off vista as next upgrade and hold out for Win 7. |
I can confirm at least that this bug not just applies to MP, it happens in SP as well, alas not as often. But what i did notice is, that most of the Times after exiting CloD, the gameoverlayui.exe is still running, while the game is not. Since i patched Vista lately to SP2, i will recheck if this Problem still persists.
And no, i don´t have TrackIR or any other app trapping clicks, except maybe for the RoccatOSD, which unfortunately i can´t remove without "losing" my Mouse for good, as it contains the driver necessary for operation. Without it, my mouse won´t work at all and i don´t have any old ones lying around anymore. |
