If the stuttering you are referring to is happening while flying online that could be from server lag.

Well, glad it finally works out for you mate.

If you had reduced your textures earlier you wouldn't have had to wait for the beta patch either (i've been getting no less than 25-30 FPS on a much slower rig than yours ever since April/May by doing this), the sim looks good enough with lowered textures and it "buys" you enough FPS to "exchange" by setting other options higher: more FPS and better looks than running original textures without shadows/grass/other details.

Since you started flying and all, i think it's a good time to wish good luck and safe landings ;)

Ive been beta tester for few sims including ROF and have good knowledge of hardware and software optimisation....I tried everything you can imagine and wasnt good before latest beta patch....
thanks for good luck....cheers

Its happening offline too.....nothing to do with server lag as I was on perfectly smooth serverS (two of them)....its has to do with animation

EDIT: tonite was less smooth occasionaly (when more planes are near me) but still much better than before....

UPDATE: I managed to get the game running very smooth by defraging game cache files (in steam, right click on CLIFFS/properties/local files/ then defrag cache game files) + tuning up my nvidia control panel settings (Texture filtering - from quality to High performance and Power management was earlier on Prefer maximum performance). Also I tuned a bit my ingame video settings and here they are:

Game still looks good and while Im waiting for more optimisations (mostly for land objects) from devs this would be OK for now...it runs great...

Also, from day one Im using MSI Afterburner for overclocking my MSI GTX470 Twinfrozr2 (Oc on core 750Mhz) and in BIOS Ive raised my CPU (i7 920) from 2.66 to 3.5Ghz with HT set to OFF).
For fine tuning win7 (64bit) Im using Yamicsoft Win7 manager where I can fine tune the memory usage, registry cleaning and defraging, pagefiles, win processes, SATA speedups etc etc). Although Gamebooster will do the job quite well.
For defraging my HDD Im using excellent (and free) Mydefrag utility. Highly recommended.

try forest very low tvrdi, everything else looks good there, but forest very low will make the game look nice, also turn AA off, and use the FXAA hack thats around here somewhere, gives a nice boost.

After defragging game cache in Steam Gamebooster defragger still finds many fragmented files. I downloaded several games demos from Steam last week and every time this was the case. Either Steam or Gamebooster is cheating. Anyway it does not hurt to defrag using Gamebooster as well. It defrags a selected game directory only quickly. I did so since release and had very few stutters (high textures, med landscape lightings, shadows on ~40-45 fps). Gamebooster is free.

FXAA hack? Where is it?? Cant find the hack. Btw; I noticed jagged edges on wings when looking from distance which means AA is not working well.....

I have the same OS and never had any issues. Maybe you shut down some important services by chance? They are configurable in settings. Did you try the latest version?
