I believe we get some official news this week.

BigPickle 06-02-2011 07:28 AM

really how do you know that?

I have a two questions though:

1. where is are new community rep
2. are they going to actually going to fix fullscreen so it is fullscreen (your more likely to get an epileptic fit watching the screen flash between desktop and game than sunlight on debris)

Just incase anyone says fullscreen is fixed, test another game out then try cod, its not fixed by anymeans, you should not be able to control desktop functions while ingame such as volume dials on keyboards, the splash screen is not ment to be overlayed on desktop im sure of it, as you see the splash a total of three times with flickers in between each. Also another way to test this is key inputs, if you try to make an input into a box that wont allow input etc windows gives you a warning sound, this happens when input is made to the controls, that means that windows is having a problem knowing what window is ontop, ie not full screen.

But v-sync works, it cannot work without fullscreen, but you are right too.

it works if it is forced on i think

Vsync need fullscreen, try force it in with pseudo or windowed mode, i'm sure it doesent work with those modes

It caps your fps to 60fps but there is tearing.

I'm not sure it works, i use it with most games and tbh i still get oddities with it on in cod

It works for me really well with fullscreen, eliminates all tearing.
Windowed or pseudo i got terrible tearing on my cockpit.

Those windows sound i only hear in menus, those are not fullscreen thats why it shows your windows desktop when mission start because it changes to fullscreen.

So the Catalyst problems in 1946 are back... Shame on you AMD (ATI).

AMD and some flight sims (unfortunately my favorite one's) don't get along. I bought the HD 5xxx series (5870) and it had major bug/performance issues regarding 1946 and FSX. It was OK with Eagle Dynamics products (Black Shark, Flaming Cliffs 2 and Warthog) and with WoP (demo only). Don't own RoF.

My HD 5870 broke after almost 2 years, send it back to RMA, and they've send me the new HD 6xxx series (HD 6950 1 gig). And once again I faced more problems comparing to the green ones (e.g. blue lines in the horizon).

Not correct, Luthier said they are working everyday and have no time to post update news.

Some of the team were working 7 days a week awhile ago, but its highly doubltfull they still are. The western release delayed until July may even have enable them to take the time off they were supposed to get early may, now.

Anti-aliasing simply does not work the same way with modern shaders. You need to do very fancy stuff to make it do the same thing as before.

that might be right. But for example Arma2 has modern shader graphics too AND DX9 only but very good full screen AA support. I can´t understand why a shader and DX step forward you have to get three steps back AA related. What an advantage....
