We have broken radio comms Still some serious optimisation needed in certain areas Major FM and CEM issues Broken features such as proper loadouts. All of these issues will take preference over minor graphical issues. |
I dont have these lines on SP or at least i didnt just now on 3 different SP missions but as soon as went to MP i had them..this was all just after a new driver install

I know that you are not just repeating things you heard on message boards stated by idiots who still think it's 1999 and that ATI doesn't account for over half the graphics market. |
I agree with the comments regarding AMD (ATI) hardware. They sure have the best price/quality ratio, but they suck completely with 1C products. Even in FSX the green ones had far better performance. Never had any issues with other games though.
I remember when I bought my HD 5870... It was a freaking nightmare and long road before the Cat. driver team could make a driver that could handle 1946 in perfect mode (OpenGlide) without any problem/performance issues. |

I have also worked in 3D game engines development and the drivers problems or unsupported specifications where always with ATI. It is a nonsense not to recognize that ATI drivers are worse than nvidia when talking about lastest graphic technologies. |
I find it interesting how all these people with "industry experience" always have trouble with ATI cards. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones to have never had a problem with any of my cards in the past 15 years of PC gaming that required more than a quick web search to see what the issue was.
My previous video cards and the OS they were running on. . . Windows 95/98 Some 3DFX card S3 something card Voodoo 2 Voodoo 3, 3000 Voodoo 5, 5500 Some Matrox card I only had for a week. Windows ME Radeon 7200 Windows XP GeForce3 Ti 500 Radeon 8500 Radeon 9800 Pro GeForce 6500 Windows Vista Radeon x1400 Some Geforce 7 series card Radeon 4800 Radeon 5770 Throughout the various upgrades, I've usually managed to make a profit off of all the trades or sales with the exception of 3 or 4 of them. I sold my last system which was a decent rig for about $400 more than it was actually worth, so right now I'm using a system that I built entirely from old systems I've found in the electronics recycle bin at the dump and waiting for CloD to be patched to a "working state" before I spend my cash on a gaming rig. Out of all these systems, I've never had an issue that kept me from playing a game. The only occasional problem would usually involve a 2 minute google search for the issue, then a small fix recommended by someone with a similar problem. 9 time out of 10 this problem was an issue with Windows not having a specific update or dll. As for ATI issues, the only problem was when playing the Combat Mission series, and the text in-game had an opaque box around it. That was a 15 second fix. As for Nvidia issues, I think one was with the game Messiah (which was a bugfest) and the other was with one of the early 3D RTS games (Metal Fatigue I think). That was rectified by waiting a month for the next driver update. As for CloD and ATI, I'd say the blame rests on Maddox Games as this is one of the buggiest games I have ever, EVER encountered. |

It is a nonsense to listen to so called games/graphics experts claim AMD/ATI drivers suck, especially when that person has admitted to not even owning or using an ATI/AMD card for years. I work with both types of cards, building and supporting PC for both work and gaming purposes. I have found no serious problems with ATI drivers, maybe some game issues but nothing drastic and certainly not unique to AMD/ATI hardware. Nvidia on the otherhand have had a couple of very seriously bad drivers released. I had to replace two graphics cards for friends due to the "amazing Nvidia drivers" after 196.75 cooked their GPUs. So much for being better than ATI right? I have never had an ATI or AMD driver that outright killed the graphics card. Here are some links to how wonderful the Nvidia drivers can be. http://www.zdnet.com/blog/hardware/w...hics-card/7551 http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=161503 http://www.geek.com/articles/games/n...o-die-2010035/ http://www.engadget.com/2010/03/05/n...-graphics-car/ http://www.anandtech.com/show/3605 I suppose it is the fault of the users for installing these WHQL drivers, good ole Nvidia can do no wrong, right? |

Well, u would be wrong, Luthier stated a long time ago that AMD just wasnt intrested in working with the team to optemize drivers for AMD cards. (unlike NVidia) So e-mail AMD and put the blame where it belongs for once. If i where Luthier and i wouldnt lose money on it i wouldnt even bother to get Amd cards working when they show little or no interest to help out and make CoD teams life a whole lot easier regarding at least that issue. |

So every time someone makes an aftermarket car stereo, Honda/GM/Ford has to stop the assembly lines, and work with the little aftermarket company to change their car's dash design to accommodate that stereo? The only time you will see a video card manufacturer work with a game developer is when there is some manner of AAA+ title that is going to account for more than 10+ of the gaming market. The Call of Duty and Battlefield series are good examples of this practice because they are a huge portion of the market and it makes sense to cater to them. AMD/ATI accounts for over 1/2 the graphics market. They're the big dog and they got there not by working with every little blip of a gaming company, but by making excellent hardware and drivers that these companies are supposed to work with. If they did decide they wanted to work with Maddox Games, can you imagine that nightmare? Working with such a buggy game that pretty much changes 1/2 its code with every patch? I honestly think that ATI made the right decicion to ignore MG. Maddox Games can decide to not support ATI, that sounds like a good business decision and one I'm surprised they didn't make given the "great" judgement they have shown so far. Ati: Ok, we we have decided to work with you to improve Radeon card performance and compatibility with Cliffs of Dover. Maddox Games: Thanks, we really appreciate that. Ati: So what's the problem? Maddox Games: No full screen, FSAA doesn't work, you're leading edge card only gets about 15fps in our game and has blue lines on the horizon, we have issues with objects clipping, shadows flashing, LOD issues, Crossfire doesn't work. . . Ati: See you later, call us when you have a working game. The bugs are not ATI/Nvidia's fault. Both companies have tons of cards on the market that work perfectly with hundreds of different game engines (new and old). The fault lies squarely on Maddox Games and their code. |

Bad coding, that's why. Oh and for the record, AMD/ATI have plenty of developer SDKs available, the DirectX coding quidelines are well published for any developer to access. So there is plenty of help out there for Maddox Games. |
