6950 blue lines

I have a XFX 6950 2GB, has anyone come across a fix for this yet? I installed the 12-1 drivers no help.

I'm XFX 6870 1Gb BE user with catalyst 11.8, NO STRIPES here.

That's because it's only affecting 69xx cards not 68xx cards.

I thought it had been fixed a patch or two back.Apparently the new ATI 7900 series does not have the problem.

Ok, you called, I answer. This issue will be resolved with the new graphics engine (hopefully). This engine has been of much debate of progress but if you follow the updates, you'll see that the team is working on fixing out all the bugs.

I don't have the blue stripes, running on a HD5770 here, seems to be 6XXX series related.

As they have been working hard for months on what has been described as a "major rewrite of the graphics code" we can hope that it gets fixed when that patch is released in two weeks? ;) Like many others I left for Nvidia when the 8800GTX arrived and I have never looked back... Being a hardware nerd that can change any day if AMD jumps up for a slam dunk like Nvidia did in the 8800-series :)

S!

I use the 7970HD and NO stripes. Catalyst 12.1 RC or something for me. Other series could try 12.2 previews or 12.1 WHQL..And seems the 7950HD kicked 580GTX in the nuts too at launch, reviews popping up.

I got the stripes on my old 4850 setup as well as my new 6950. However, I distinctly remember reading that someone with an nvidia card (I think it was a 560ti) was also getting the lines, so it may not be an AMD only issue.

And like Mazex said, they mentioned that with the "major rewrite of the graphics code" many of our issues would be cured; flickering shadows, horizontal stripes, memory leaks, crashing etc.

But I must say, it's very distracting :(

My thoughts exactly. There is really no point in Maddox Games or AMD/ATI spending time and money to patch this if the new graphics engine is "right around the corner". When (if) it's released the three blue stripe might be taken care of, or maybe the new engine will make us wish the blue stripes were still a major worry.

Wait and see!
