Its because it uses tons on VRAM on the GPU, its purely based on GPU it seems at the moment, surely the load needs to be spread out a bit?

say that very often stuttering and low FPS are memory related and to HD access speed, if you exclude coding problems... So your observation is logical.... Salute ! |
Personally I think it's due to poor optimization, I've read examples where rather modest rigs plays the game just fine. After that first patch it really improved for me. Kinda like a 6 cylinder engine running on only 4 cylinders or something.

Ok got the console up. They must have changed the command to bring up fps cos fps SHOW START is not working. The one thing I have noticed is when you play in cockpit fps drops alot I play with it off. I get about 60-70 with cockpit on over the channel and 50-60 on land and without it about 20fps more. No stutters tho so it feels like no fps has dropped had to use fraps to see that.

Off topic abit, But I got through a few campaign missions last night and when I go to play now it starts from the beginning wtf

not in this order. Buildings(freezes the PC), trees(the higher the more stuttering), shadows and grass. For the rest of settings I didn't notice too much difference.

X8 AA grass and all that checked ON. 1680x1050 the frames drop over land sure... but its butter over water. |
I manage to get 30 FPS over the sea with 3 vs 3 dogfight. Drops when closing, exploding etc. Medium settings, grass, shadows off, trees low. Driver settings AA: app controlled, AF app controlled, Texture pref: HQ, MipMap: HQ, Vertical Sync Off, Catalyst A.I.:Off. I don't want to talk about FPS above ground.
