[QUOTE=Travelbob;246449]I don't really blame Oleg and his team. I blame Ubisoft, because my feeling is that they pushed 1C to publish now because of profit...and maybe to pay the game development. But honestly, if this was the case, maybe we should buy instead of the unfinished game treasury stocks of 1C/IL2 - this would have helped to develop the game and avoided such a big disappointment. I don't know![QUOTE]

Well I prefer having it now even if its buggie and have fun with it for the next 6 months as it is being patched, rather than waiting for a "complete" version down the road. At laest now we have a taste of what is to come ;)

...and we can also identify the most burning issues, learn the system and learn how to fly the damn things... I haven't played the original Il-2 online for two years, mostly flew offline and I expect something similar with CoD.

We're all just spoiled because we're used to Il-2, which was rock solid and undemanding on today's hardware for 2-3 years now. What we're getting now is a quantum leap, which cannot happen smoothly - it simply isn't a scripted FPS where every frame is optimized, and the work is paid for by the millions of kids who will play the game for 10 hours and then move on. What we see are teething problems, but beyond these I see huge potential. Actually, the game is quite playable for me even now with no specific HW upgrades for it, so I have nothing to complain about actually...

No, but i didn't have a monster rig anyway and a lot of the graphics options in IL2 were completely hidden, so even the people with monster rigs couldn't enable it and then say "omg, my FPS is too low".

For good FPS i could only run 10-15 planes and whenever i used the zoomed in gunsight view to fire the rockets, i would get a 1-2 second stutter from the smoke effect. I played it like this for a year or so and it was complex enough (compared to previous offerings) for me to understand that it's unreasonable to expect to run everything at full detail.

I'm not saying CoD is perfect right now. All i'm saying is don't expect to get 100 AI planes in the air on single-player, even after the much needed optimization patches. Multiplayer is another story since probably each plane's physics are calculated on our own PC...maybe that's why the single-player campaign is 50 aircraft for minimum specs but the mutli mode claims to support more.

In any case, even if CoD was bug-free and with good FPS for everyone, it would still be limited to about 50 aircraft in the air for the time being.

I know this is more about overall game experience and not specific to bugs, but that's what i meant to say with my previous post and expanded in this one for clarification. IL2 with perfect mode and 100 planes in the air didn't happen overnight for me, so i have no problem taking my time and learning the ropes until it happens for CoD. Sure, CoD needs work, nobody's denying that. It's just that the sky isn't falling yet, at least for me. ;)

I have just flown an intercept mission with 15 Blenheims,6 Spitfires,6 110's and 6 109's!
The Blenheims were all flying in formation.
I was in a 109,attacked and damaged a couple of Blenheims, got shot up,and limped back across the channel to base for a crash landing.
Not had so much fun for ages. This sim has HUGE potential.

Maybe some of you that are complaining and ranting shouldn't have bought the game on the 1st day of release?! You only have yourselves to blame.

Its not as though we havent had some inclination that there are problems with the game before this date and if you could control your inner child (I WANT IT NOW NOW NOW!) then you wouldnt have 'wasted' your money on it.

To some the price of the game is a 'mere piss in the ocean', if they want to buy it to support the dev team then let them be.

I agree that when games are released by companies they should be running well on PC's and have all features included. But on the other hand i'm a PC gamer and have had enough experience with PC game releases (FPS, RPG, MMO etc) to realise that this is hardly ever the case (rightly or wrongly aside).

That is why i tend to wait to buy these games (even though im itching to get it!) till ive read forum reviews from people that couldnt wait! Maybe you should have done the same.

Whoever bought the game after the reading the last couple of weeks of forums posts, here and other forums, and expected to launch the game on their PC and it to all hunky dory surely was kidding themselves.

And before anyone jumps down my throat, I agree that released games should be of a certain quality but i am also a realist and experienced in PC game releases.

People complain when its delayed or not getting released quick enough, when its out people still complain its not working. Every single game this happens and in the end it shall be fixed just have to be patient.

IF UBI rushed the game out for profit and it is profit they wanted surely
1 , wait now until Christmas or the anniversary of the Battle Of Britain to make the most of the advertising and sales,
2,Doing this would've given the beta testers/developers 6+ months more to get it right or at least playable for many.
3, Poor write ups now because of this will hurt sales, whats the saying "first impressions last".
Rushing this out just doesn't make sense.
I agree it should hopefully all come good in the future BUT as already stated
4, Because of steam you can't resell the game [can you?)
5, You are hoping they do fix the problems, what do you do if they can't/don't ?
