I saw some of you folks complaining how everything about IL-2 is a dead horse (http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o.../deadhorse.gif) well it ain't 8) ! There are many interesting things to be played with.
Measured in v4.08 on Crimea map.
Results are very accurate, tolerance for error is less than 1%.......... I'll update the list and add new info as I do new tests.
Special remarks listed;

....

Results marked in red are obtained by flying at the t0p speed alts, that means those are absolute t0p level speeds for the specific type.
________
update#1

Are those speed values in IAS or TAS?

DKoor 10-09-2007 07:40 PM

Those are values that can be read on the "Comic Gauge", another words, TAS 8)

Interesting stuff on the radiator`s drag effect. For comparison with RL tested data for radiator drag on a Bf 109G-1, please see my site :

http://kurfurst.allaboutwarfare.com/...les/blatt9.jpg

It seems the radiator has very little effect on drag state compared to real life..

I've compared another set of data..........
To some this may be actually worthwhile......
See how much actual difference is between the Gospel IL-2 Compare V4.07 and IL-2 V4.08.

Some may be surprised.

Excellent work Mr. DeKoor. A big ~S~ for your efforts.

I've always wondered what my favorite ride the Pe-2 would do at altitude... any chance of you checking her when you have the time? You do that and I'll buy you a beer sometime! 8)
