WTF, are they trying to push download sales instead of boxed versions?
The fair deal would be to offer the boxed version at X-price and instantly get the right to download the game as soon as it is available (so as to save the 7+ days that might take the post to get you the boxed version at home). Even better...to supply all shops worldwide, so as to have the boxed version available from hour 1. Still waiting for Amazon.co.uk or Play.com... |
Still can't pre order from amazon :(

My hunch is whoever is making the marketing decisions is from a FPS XBOX background where downloaded content is much more common and acceptable. They probably do not realize how distinct and different the PC simulation customer base actually is. |
Profit for 1c:Maddox on download versions should be higher.

With just over a month to go before release, I surprised that only Ubisoft are selling the dvd version of the game - in previous comments in this thread, there are quite a few sites that are selling the game for download only. Is this a marketing ploy?

So, I've finally succumbed & ordered Cliffs of Dover from Ubi.com.
Reading their website, it is possible to cancel an order, so if places like Amazon.co.uk finally decide to list it, & it's cheaper, then I'll order it through them. One thing I noticed on ordering it from Ubi.com, it says on the invoice that the release date is 21 March 2011. |

Still waiting for Amazon UK. Amazon France has listed the game
|
My guess is they will let you download 1st @ £29.99 then 2 weeks later the hard copy will be available for pre order. If you want the game on the 25th march you get a digital copy if you want a hard copy its gona be another 2 weeks.
I will bet money on it. Check the date on the France Amazon website....... |
