My records tells me that I got the 1000lb for the D5 after killing 50 groundtargets in strike with the same plane. I don't think I ever did that, but the night the patch was released was like pre-christmas-eve. I'm almost sure it was that night I got the bombs for the D. It is as one of you guys have pointed out, in the "official" papares it says 2x250lb's, but I have corrected that in my own copies with ink. The D5 has a bombload of 2x1000lb in the game. (PS3). I think it is a little f-up from the devs side. It would have been a mission (allmost) impossible to kill 50 groundtargets in the D5 with the HVAR- rockets only. To get the rockets you had to kill 50 planes in online CTA games in the same bird...

The51B is another bag. To get 2x100lb load-out you had to win 10 online games in the 51B. To get the 2x500lb you had to win 15 online strike or cta in the 51B. (My rec's says I won 6, so I think I got that load-out too with the release of the patch).

Hope this made a few things a bit clearer.

To sum it up; Thank dog (and the devs) for the patch!

I have completed my bomb tests on xbox. I will now share the results.
Match 1.
B-17 with 1000lb bombs. Destroyed 3 friendly bunkers. Each bunker took ten 1000lb bombs to destory.

Match 2.
P-51D with 250lb bombs. Destroyed 3 friendly bunkers. Each bunker took ten 250lb bombs to destroy.

Conclusion. The bombs on the P-51D are 1000lb bombs on xbox as well as PS3. Only the text saying 250lbs is wrong.

Great to see that nearly a year and half down the line the game still throws up randomness!!! I'm guessing therefore that the PS patch sorted text rather than actual bombload.
As you put McQ the day the patch came out was like Christmas! I think we played one game and then in the next lobby discussed the avalanch of loadouts we had been given!! Pity one of them wasn't the bombs for the 190F!!! That only took about another 8 months!! (still owe you for that one Kav!).
I wonder if there are flight characteristic differences then between the PS and xBox 51's when loaded with the 250/1000lbs then?(appreciate that the patch 'fixed' some of the 51 flight issues on the PS)

All the effort to unlock the bombs for some aircraft never bothered me. I don't bomb but was happy to unlock the bomb for my mk ix. It make a nice ornament during strike games and I can pretend I am taking tickets by dropping it on the odd ship or bunker

lol I know what you mean. I didn't mention in my previous post that I did a third test strike match bombing my bunkers with a spitfire XVI with real 250lb bombs. I'd dropped 24 bombs on target when the guy on the other side in an Arado ruined the test with one bomb and destroyed the target for me lol. The guys that I played those 3 matches with must have been wondering what the hell I was doing, the guy who dared go up against my B-17 in a 109E must have been happy I helped him unlocking the He111-H3. :grin:

Does anyone know the unlocks (50 and 100kg bombs) for the LA-7's unlock criteria? The list at the start of the thread seems a bit old!? Surely it cant be that many post patch?

I do hope not! That seems like an awfull lot for a fighter, though it is a russian plane and the devs are russian.. :( Lets get cracking!

lol don't worry. That is the pre-patch requirement. With the PS3 patch the La-7 unlocks are:

2 cannons, 2 x 50 kg bombs
Kill 1 ground target in Online games on La-7


2 cannons, 2 x 100 kg bombs
Win 4 Online CTA games on La-7
Win 4 Online games on La-7
