An update or a message is many times better than silence. Fans get a feeling they are not forgotten or ignored. So thanks a lot BlackSix for the update :) |
Yeah, few words are better than the usual silence. Thank you BlackSix!

These are true words of wisdom. We appreciate any bit of news you can provide to us. And having some news on progress makes the waiting a bit more tolerable :) |

My desperation got a tad bit more tolerable flying last Friday our local aviation museum's brand new Bf 109 simulator... Awesome cockpit with IL-2 1946 as a sim. Here's a video of several times winner of WRC rally Tommi Mäkinen flying that very same simulation by the way we have here very nice Finnish Air Force Me 109 G6 at the museum... So please feel welcome to enjoy the plane at it's full glory and fly the thing on the sim. :) http://www.patricksaviation.com/file.../7806_5590.jpg |
Great, looking forward to it!

Great looking picture! Been to our own aviation museum in Malta just today, will be in Helsinki next week - where is your aviation museum? :) |
S!
The museum is within 2km from the Helsinki airport. It has less planes than the museum with this Bf109G-6 situated in Jyväskylä. I've been sitting in the Bf109G-6..oh boy took days for the grin to wear off!! :D |

the museum I was referring is "Keski-Suomen Ilmailumuseo" in Tikkakoski, Jyväskylä in central Finland.
My home town and my home airfield for local flight club for flying four seater airplanes :) |

Roads are in good condition at most parts of Finland, especially the main routes. I would still consider train or plane for traveling..driving at winter speeds limited to 80km/h at most parts makes it VERY slow. Sodankylä is not that far from where I live, Rovaniemi :D Been there at the film festivals during summer, quite a lot of people there :) I hope you enjoy your stay in Finland and get to the museums :) |
answer appreciated, ...

BTW. A new objectives-based mission by podvoxx is run on Repka #1 . A lot of work for ground-pounders there. May help to skip time to the patch faster :) Briefing http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showpos...&postcount=154 Screenshots http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showpos...&postcount=155 |

They also have an immaculate P-39 captured from the Russians in original cammo, white US stars overpainted with red stars. Jyväskylä is also a lovely little town, very friendly people, so all in all a must-visit for Il-2 fans! :) Me and the 109: http://simhq.com/forum/files/usergal....ps_resize.jpg |

Kerosene..yes here is a nice park nearby. During winter you can ski there as the paths are not kept open ;) Rovaniemi is a nice little place and if you stop here just let me know! Would be great to meet other propellor heads :D Freycinet, glad you liked the museum. I visit it whenever possible, just to see the Bf109G-6 :) This same example flew the last flight of the plane 1953 in FiAF. Was interesting to read and hear how they struggled to keep the Bf109's airworthy when rest of the world went to jets and all that. Saying was that fly a day, repair 2 weeks..tells about the spare part problems etc. One Bf109G-6 was assembled from 3 different planes and quite a few even went over a total overhaul at the aircraft factory. Good they spared some for museum and not trash them all like the bombers for example. One Blenheim survived and is now on display at the museum :) Worth seeing! |

Save as a .bat file, i.e. a file with a "bat" extension. (How to create a bat file.) Please test if it helps to stop launcher crash. EDIT Attached file should work for everyone at least on Win-7. No need to edit path/username, just extract and run. Please report if it helps to stop crashes. |
Freycinet, thanks for the info and a great pic of you and the G6!

Wow, Yak18T an acrobatics capable plane. I wish sometimes in the future to get my greedy little hands on some acrobatics plane and fly some acrobatics. I do fly mostly Piper Cherokee/Warrior & Cessna 172 kind of stuff. By the way today we had here sunny but cripsy -20 celsius degrees weather here and I had an opportunity to co-pilot with an experimetal skiplane, Kitfox. That was awesomely different and challenging compared to hard surface operated nose wheeled and more heavier/stable planes. a picture of skimounted Kitfox before the trip |
