This is the most complex registration I had since 2007 I think :) most sites send activation link in the 1st message :)

Correct mail.ru are blocked

Nice :) This means it is not accessible for 90% of Russian (and some Ukrainian, Belorussian, etc.) pilots including Maddox Games and Repka team :) Other forums or bigger companies like Steam, Origin or Youtube to name a few do not block it btw.

Thank you for information anyway. Just received an approval for my gmail registration.

Its still in beta, but until CoD/Steam fixes its multiplayer stability, and the CooP interface becomes usable its going to be a while.

There were a few servers on HL but most of those disappear after Steam shuts down and restarts their servers.

Long way to go yet before CoD delivers IL2 1946 pilot numbers on HL.

I will have a look at your HL registration.

So almost 8 months later and we are still at the mercy of steam....how does MG expect this game to grow if all the efforts of the server operators is in vain?

To be fair the latest patch introduced the memory leak for a lot of users causing lock ups,
but Steam also seems to have a problem holding the servers up for any length of time,
not sure how the net stats are for the popular ones, but they should be able to confirm server failure/restart figures due to steam or the server.

Clod is the only thing I use on Steam. However I have not seen or read of any other game servers besides Clod continuously going offline.

I am well aware of the memory leaks  but i am also well aware of the disconnect that comes from steam that results in the "lost connection with steam server shutting down" and when you check the STEAM! logs not the games logs you will see a message saying "disconnected by remote host"...im just amazed they have not looked into it.

next time you start a server start steam first from a CMD window with the following arguments and see if the steam logs give you any useful info.
steam.exe -lognetapi -noasync

the noasync will get rid of alot of the disconnect/reconnect garbage in the steam log file and the lognetapi will show all P2P activity.

S!

Beta testing ends soon

http://hyperfighter.sk/modules.php?n...=8115&start=90

Updated known issues:

Known issues found during open betatest:
* Do not change mission name and description in hosting mode
* Autostart also steam in dedicated server autostart mode
* Game cannot connect the server and timeout (UNCONFIRMED/CLOSED)
* Game cannot detect steam and exit with message "Steam must be running to play IL-2 Sturmovik Cliffs of dover. Please launch Steam and try again." (UNCONFIRMED/CLOSED)
* Switching Steam cloud storage off user may lost control settings. Solution is backup/restore control settings via the game interface. (GAME FEATURE, NOT HL FAILURE)

I think there is anything more i can do so release will be published soon.

New hyperlobby with Cliffs of Dover support is now out of Beta and ready to fly. Hyperlobby version 4.3.2 get it here http://hyperfighter.sk/index.php

28_Condor 02-21-2012 03:47 PM

Version 4.3.2 works fine but found only two visible server, and two more with password :(

BH_woodstock 03-27-2012 03:47 PM

think about this, what does il2 1946 have that Cliffs of Dover dont??A meeting place!!!A community where pilots can talk, chat, and compare fps,settings,etc..If i dont see pilots in servers just like most are saying here.i either play single player or join the most populated one i can find and usually will fly for a bit, get bored and move on to another game.CloD does NOT have a meeting place!!
Il2 would NOT have survived 10 years without it.1st we had UBI lobby wich was an ok starting point for muiltyplayer experience. Then one day I found Hyperlobby and never looked back, not even once.In my opinion and this is "just" my opinion with all the support that HL has with the community CloD would be far more advanced and fixed and a lot more players if everyone would use a lobby or meeting place such as HL.Am i trying to endorse Hyperlobby? Yes i am.Lets give credit where it is due.Il2 would not have survived this long with out a community.Cliffs of Dover NEVER should have went with "Steam"...It "should" have went to the place where it belongs with a more dedicated community. And i am NOT just saying this because of myself being part of HL staff. "CloD" should have had hyperlobby on the box cover NOT steam. What it all comes down to is that CloD needs more than just a "server" list.it needs friends a common meeting ground, a place to thrive!

can i get an Amen??

I agree with this. HL may be ready for Dover, but Dover is not ready for HL. Until all the stuff that disconnects servers gets sorted out, adding HL into the loop again would just add another program to babysit to keep servers running. With that said, I'm looking forward to using HL again.

BH_woodstock 04-07-2012 08:46 PM

at this moment we have 5 servers up and running

+1

Steam may be something for the ego shooter kids. I am just too old for that.
I deleted Steam, because I felt it would make me mad. I hope they will rethink that policy before CloD is debugged so far, that I would like to give it another try.

csThor 05-11-2012 02:37 PM

The mother corporation 1C relies heavily on Steam (with its other releases). You can moan as much as you want, for 1C Steam is a good platform to publish things on without the hassle of having to print CDs and manuals. Publishers like such systems ...

I had a dream...

I had a dream... The CLoD would had replaced IL2 1946 a long time ago. I was really hoping that all the cheating in IL-2 1946 would have been stopped with punk buster or something.

I stopped playing IL2-1946 on multiplayer forums because I could never understand how I could be flying at 100% throttle , angle down at max speed and someone would just catch up to me shoot me down and fly by like i was doing 20kts. That got so old. It seemed I was always under powered and I adjusted everything as needed but I was always being out flown out sped all the time. I have no idea if people are hacking their aircraft or what in il2-1946 but that was something I thought would have been worked out.

The community as a whole should take care of the cheating, I would love to start playing either version again.

Not sure where you've been flying but my experience in 1946 was never anywhere close to what you're describing

i was flying on the popular HL servers...

fschris 06-06-2012 08:46 PM

Really they need some kind of anti cheat program... I am only saying that if me and 4-5 of my buddies would fly in a private server, we could take 15-20 minutes to shoot someone down.... get into a server on HL... it took like 30 seconds to get shot down. seemed like something was up.

15-20 minutes?? that is the problem fschris, You see most players in HL have been doing this sim for many, many years. a small burst is all that is needed to bring down a plane not 15-20 minutes. you would be dead in seconds with an experienced pilot.
I have been in HL for about 11 years and you hardly EVER see a cheater and if you do see a cheater everyone would know who he is. Next time you fly try recording so you can be sure. And IMO most pilots in HL are honorable and would never even consider a cheat.

BH_woodstock 06-21-2012 01:25 PM

6 servers up and running in HL

ATAG_MajorBorris 06-25-2012 03:05 PM

Hi FSChris,

If having 2000 hours of online combat experience is cheating then you will from time to time run into a true ace that seems like thier gunnery and general airmanship is outragously superior.

Thats becuase it is.

Fret not Chris, with proper tactics, a wing man on coms and practice, you can even the playing field if you want to.

Good Luck!

BH_woodstock 07-07-2012 06:30 PM

we need servers and more people using Hyperlobby.we can get alot more accomplished with "Live direct" communication.

amyandmarshall 08-03-2012 12:20 AM

Just where can I join public multiplayer dogfights for CoD?

I have Hyperlobby but it's a ghost town.

Troll2k 08-03-2012 02:00 AM

For what ever reason the Clod room in Hyperlobby only has 3 or 4 servers in it.Hyperlobby only shows the number of people that have joined through Hyperlobby. There are probably a lot more that have joined through the ingame browser.

All the servers are listed in the ingame browser under client under multiplay.

Most all of them are full switch.(most realism settings)

Hi there,
what happened to the Multiplayer in CLOD. Having the latest BETA Patch applied I only find one Server?

Where is ATAG gone?

Greetings
Daniel

We had to rebuild the server some time back and we missed some things.
In the mean time, you can find ATAG from the game server browser or through the direct link on out forums and TeamSpeak.

BH_woodstock 10-22-2012 07:44 PM

now that the final patch is out i noticed the servers in hyperlobby are all running smooth as silk.and also noticed a few doing co-ops in hyperlobby as well.

cheers!
