I gave it a good play last night and it's a good game but no BoP. All the time I was playing I was wishing it was in a WW2 setting. That kind of open world multi player landscape set in war torn Europe would be my dream game.
So far my biggest beef with the game is lack of scoped weapons. I haven't seen one yet and the vast landscape is crying out for a sniper rifle.
It's all good fun though. Posses vs gangs works well, especially when some lone player decides to attack the posse. I don't think this will take many people off BoP for long (no need to worry Kav).

I was thinking the same thing about wishing it was war torn Europe, dk. I don't know about you but I found the the mechanics of the game are prettty much identical to GTA with Oblivion-style environments and Uncharted 2 gunplay. I found the Free Roam posse MP very impressive. There are scoped weapons in the game.

Of course this isn't a threat to dyed in the wool BoP folk.

not much for westerns but THIS looks like it could be real good....and the online play would be very interesting.

McQ59 05-28-2010 08:44 AM

Hey guys

Are anyone of you up for a re-try for a cpl of pre-briefed missions saturday night? I'd love to take up wookie and Kavs idea of a bomb-run and/or strifes on parked planes.

Something like this:

Session: Teambattle
Map: Dover
Time: Morning
Weather: Clear or cloudy

Allies:
Bombers: Parked Blemheims at Manston (Pilots land imediatly at the airfield and park the planes in formation beside iach other).
Cover: None (Turret-guns as AA)
Take off from: None

Axis:
Attackers: Bf 109's
Take-off: Hawkinge

I'll set it up as a 12 or 14 player game, and have up to 8 attacking 109's - against 4 to 6 Blenheims.

I'd love to see how many of the Blenheims some of you guys could strife in one pass!

Anyone up for it?

Gilly 05-28-2010 08:56 AM

Count me in as always mate, happy to fly either side

Cool mate. I'll fly either side as well. Let's see what happends...

KAV 05-28-2010 10:42 AM

I aint got no donkey, so guess if I am in or out

JOED70 05-28-2010 12:10 PM

Sounds like fun I can make it this Sat nite . Either Side is fine with me .

As a matter of fact we should try and run at least 2 missions . So that people can switch up ie Bomber one round attacker nxt .

A mix of 109's and 190's would be cool as well . 2 flights of attackers 3 -4 aircraft each 3 109's 1 Fw190 as lead . Stacked Echlon formation 5000 feet .
each aircraft rolls in in order . would be neat but requires discpline . to achive

Scotty we seemed to get into matches 10 minutes apart last night. I tried to hang fire but got into a series of grudge matches with our freinds across the channel. I got seriously wound up by their antics.
I am not going out tonight now so I am on for bomb/strafe run later. 10 o'clock like last few?

McQ59 05-29-2010 02:43 PM

I'll be on from about 8 gmt. Hope to see as many as possible around.

Sure we can set up similar games twice, so it's possible to switch sides/planes. What it really depends on is mics and a certain disciplin.

Look forward to fly with you guys!

PSN JoeD70

dkwookie 05-29-2010 09:42 PM

Taken quick break but may be back on about 24.00gmt.

We tried the strafing and it was good laugh. 1 109 strafing 4 blenheims. We parked the blenheims nose to nose in a cross so as to maximize the firing arcs. Even so it would be better in a B17 with a 360 degree arc. Some good kills on both sides. Cheers guys

JOED70 05-29-2010 10:35 PM

B17 and Blenhiem Mix would be intresting

McQ59 05-30-2010 11:41 AM

Nice missions last night guys!
The strafing mission gave some new experiences, and was a great fun. It's a good idea to use B17 next time.
Sorry we didn't get to do it some more times last night, but suddenly the lobby was full of pilots that didn't have mics and/or didn't know what we were up to - so I concidered it futile to try to get the strafing-mission to fly. I regret that guys, but you know 'when theres suddenly more than the one that don't get the drift, the chaos will be unevitable'.
(Sorry if my english don't serve me well here!)

I'd love to try to get it flying another night.

dkwookie 05-30-2010 05:41 PM

Yeah it was a good night last night. Straffing was great fun. The simulator match with McQ and Kav was one of best victories in recent memory.
In one of the later matches I managed to pull off a manouver been trying for a while. Dive attack but carrying too much speed so go under and in front of target. Hard brake and roll over top and in behind for close range burst.

JOED70 06-03-2010 03:27 PM

D Day

As Sunday June 6 will be the 66th aniversery of Operation Overlord . I think we should try and have some large team battles using Sicly Coast map to represent the Norman coast . P-51 , Spits vs 109's and FW's

What Say you ??

McQ59 06-04-2010 07:27 AM

Nice idea Joed! I'll try to attend, but you know... The summer is here, sun is shining allmost around the clock, my son is with me this weekend, and everyone with a sane mind would be sipping beer in the park or on his balcony whilst barbequing, and really embrace these rare days. I'll confront my mentalist...

dkwookie 06-04-2010 10:07 AM

Yeah this sounds great Joe, if I am in and online I will dial in. What time are you thinking of this?

JOED70 06-04-2010 04:04 PM

How about from 2200 Hrs Zulu (GMT) till 2400 .
But I am flexable so what ever is best for everyone else . I will be on and off most of the day on Sunday so let me know guys

McQ59 06-05-2010 10:47 AM

I'll be on Joed. Had a few good missions last night to with a nice bunch of pilots that was realtivly new to me. Cool to registrate that the game is far from dead!

KAV 06-05-2010 12:13 PM

I will try to make it.
But there is alot going on at the homefront that needs attention.

McQ, yes its great to see new pilots in the skies of BoP.

Gilly 06-15-2010 09:15 AM

Anyone fancy arranging a bomb run for the weekend? Following last nights attritional strike mission- hindered perfectly by a suicide knobjockey in a he162 (33 deaths in one strike- I had to screen grab it too!!!) fancy doing something with considerably less stress and a lot more fun!

Yessssssss I do.

And thanks to McQ and Gilly for the game last night. It was fun, even if the He162 was kinda frantic chaisng Gilly in his B-17

Twice I witnessed from close range the He162 ram the B-17 in an almost vertical attack. An awsome sight but devestating for the game.

Gilly 06-18-2010 09:49 AM

Should we look to do the usual 10pm gmt tomorrow ( Saturday) to do something? Be on tonight post England match so can discuss it with the regulars. Anyone else who cares to join and needs to know more drop me a PM

KAV 06-18-2010 10:22 AM

Cheers mate, hows the soccer babes :-P

I will be able to go tonight, more difficult tomorrow.
C u around.

McQ59 06-18-2010 11:35 AM

I'll be on tomorrow night. Possibly tonight too.

scottyvt4 06-19-2010 12:58 AM

same was as McQ i should be on around then also seems ages since we had a something organised :) :)

McQ59 06-19-2010 10:29 AM

That's right scotty. It seems like ages. I was on last night for a cpl of missions, but had real conx trouble. It's nice to see that it's still flying despite some lag and conx issues once in a while.

I'll be on late this evening/night.

dkwookie 06-19-2010 12:53 PM

I will be on later. I missed your games last night McQ. By the time the footy finished it was quite late when I got on. Had a couple of good matches though. Some epic arcade dogfights with Luftwaffe Rommel. Great flying there Luftwaffe

Gilly 07-30-2010 08:24 AM

Anyone fancy trying a recreation tomorrow night at the usual time of 10pm gmt.
Couple of additional ideas from the regular Kent and Berlin ones.
Stalingrad- a bomb run on the factor north of the city
Kent- a bombing raid on limpne or hawkinge

McQ59 07-30-2010 03:14 PM

I'm on mate.

Gilly 07-30-2010 06:18 PM

Edit: it's Bad to the bones 40th on Sunday and he asked whilst we were just flying whether we could do one on Sunday as well! I'm definately up for it!

dkwookie 07-30-2010 07:44 PM

I am up for both nights. He111s and stukas v I16 and 153s on Stalingrad would be fun.

scottyvt4 07-30-2010 08:12 PM

oh just seen this ...... aint been on here for a few days

i should be good for both nights also .................. usual time 9/10pm GMT???

KAV 08-19-2010 09:05 AM

Time to get together and do some historic bomb runs ?

What about and BoB scenario with JU 87 with Bf 109 e3 cover, aiming for the radarmasts at Dover.
Hurricanes and Spits Mk II scramble from Hawkings to intercept.

And, lets do this in Sim, as it seems to be the new fashion around :-P

Anyone ?

McQ59 08-19-2010 09:23 AM

I'll be happy to host it kav! I just hope the conx-issue don't make a mess...

I suggest we do it in sim, strike, map: Britaiiiin, lobby for 14, no timer, 500 points and use the ordinary targets as "Radar-dummies". Axis form up over the channel and allies scramble from Hawkinge. How u think about that?

Must be friday evening/night. I'm going partying on saturday...

Gilly 08-19-2010 09:34 AM

Count me in, I'll happily bomb/ defend/ die a lot!!

This all sounds good, McQ.
The Conx problems last night was really frustrating :evil::evil:
But I had some really good Dogfight matches in Sim earlier so all in all the night was an all good BoP experience :P:P:P:P:P:P:P

scottyvt4 02-15-2011 11:20 PM

seriooooooooous bump....................

feel its relevent though!!!!

after playing on sunday with some of the usual suspects, the Ratman was saying before he logged off that he is getting stuff organised every sunday on realistic.

mavrickandgoose 02-16-2011 04:22 AM
