Landing a plane is like a controlled stall.

This is the pilots notes for a Mk IX, XI & XVI spitfire, page 26 has the info on landings.

Not sure how much it relates to the game really but I know there are people on here who like this sorta thing.

(might see if I can find a few more Pilot notes, would make a good thread)

edit - here's the notes for the Spitfire mkII

This is the site where I read the data.

Most of the combat aircraft of the time had fairly similar landing speeds. It's not until you get into jets, or unusual aircraft like the Martin B-26, that landing speeds get to be trickier than 160kph-240kph. Also, I've noticed most planes have a marker on their airspeed indicator for the their safe landing speeds.

This mission has to be the most frustrating of all. For 3 evenings in a row I've been trying to do it. Tried with the flightstick, then the controller...I managed to land at the southern most one, but that's it. It's a gamble, 1 out of 10 tries my nose will not dip, most of the time I just end up clipping the fu***cking propeller.

I've put it aside for tonight, AGAIN.
