I'm happy there are many arcade games. It probably means players that are new to the genera are picking up the game. Maybe after they get some experience they'll move up and we'll have lots of Realistic and Sim rooms?

Foz, have you changed you Elevator sensitivity for Realistic/Sim mode? If you have reset it to max again for Arcade mode. If you change elevators you get out-turned in arcade every time.

And with the Spit MkXVI, you have the same roll rate as a 109, but a better turning cirlce when under 300mph. At over 300 you both have a similar turning circle so its harder to get in to his 6. Also dont the spit is better in a climb imo, so use it to your advantage.

Arcade mode is rather goofy.
The aircraft keep thier turning stats but get a huge speed boost(I saw 650mph in a spitfire). They never stall and performance is not affected by damage.
We would have been much better served by a realistic mode limited to armed trainer aircraft.

Would be nice to have arcade flying but with realistic mode damage.
And foz i bet i was in that game aswell, ive been flying with the 109 for a while now only problems i have are spits and i 153 really.
Spit takes so much pounding to take down, adn well the i153 cant be out turned :P

Its such a shame that the majority of unarranged games get played in arcade mode.

It seems that arcade levels the vast majority of any planes abilities so its more of a shooting gallery than a tactical flight sim.

That said, I can understand that if IL2 was to appeal to a whole market and not just a niche market it needed to have this.

Were it up to me, I have a mode for complete new comers that just want a laugh (i.e. the currrent arcade mode) and a mode for people more familier with flight sims, so planes keep there distinct advantages and disadvantages but not so hardcore as to stall everytime you turn slightly too hard.

Also I'd keep realsitic and sim for the hardcore as well.

But that would mean that the P-47 should be a quick turning plane that is completely invincible to even the heavily armed planes

I ment more the shot in engine gives problems etc, wing heavy damaged turning gets harder.
Maybe even put in the run out of oil engine failure in arcade.

Just a quick point here... Instead of propsing changes to a mode you don't like to play simply because others do like to play it, why don't y'all organize a little bit more and jion realistic games or sim games with the others that feel the way you do in this thread? Not to mention the others that feel the way you do on this board.

Sure lots of noobs like arcade because it easier...

So what? why change what others are enjoying?

There ARE enough simmers out there to make games most times, you just need to become more of a community and communicate with each other... heck I thought THAT was the purpose for forming squads and making cool sigs....
