yeah, although i do remember the area around the airfield (the one that you have to land on during the Red Skies Of Dover Mission) being relatively flat.

Surely setting the weather to blind instead of storm would be even harder?

Hard to fly in the weather without an approach system to get you back on the ground... :)

And that is why pilots don't try to land in stormy weather at night in real life. (and with no lights on the runway at all)

Actually, we do land at night in all kinds of crappy (stormy) weather. The only time we wouldn't is if there is significant convective activity right on top of the field or along the approach path. However, we do have several different instrument approach systems to use as well as highly effective runway lighting systems.
