Hello, Alpha, my only one source are the comments of my friend about his father's WWII experience. He says he flew a WWII with these markings (he has made even a plastic model with them), was shot down in the East Front (not specifying the area) and lost a leg after bailing.
I know these were very few evidences but I thought the code was a good one, but now I see that it could be wrong. Just, for instance being 3U+LV instead. His father is now >90 years old and is not in position of giving more info, unfortunately. Just we wanted to make a nice picture with a screenshot of this plane using IL-2 skinning facilities. Anyway, many thanks to everybody for the help. |

Would have been nice to have gotten more info from him regarding his operations and his actual unit he was assigned to. These pilots and crew members are becoming scarce these days, obviously due to their age, so any information is always useful and of the greatest interest. |
