CPU: Pentium 4 1.7GHz (HyperThreading disabled)
Video: Radeon 9600 Pro 128MB
Memory: 512MB x 2

Running at default settings (except vsync turn off), screen 1024 x 768.

Athlon 3000, 6600 128 mb video, 1G RAM.

I'm running the game on a 22" lcd in native resolution (forgot exactly what that is). Graphic details are set pretty low of course, but the game looks nice and is very playable on my low spec pc.

Great game - I would like to see 1c become the developers for any future HoMM, I'm sure they would do a great job.

BSoD ...hmm.. You are running XP -> I guess 32 bit version... for XP should be a patch available so it should not have any problems with 4 GB of ram (the main problem is that much less is shown in XP than is really installed, usually is shown only 3,2 GB and random BSoD's occure... but with the patch should all work fine)
If you have your XP maxed on patches and everything - I would strongly recommend you to turn the HW to service vendor - maybe you mainboard or one of the memory bars has a hardware problem. As you system is quite new - you should use your warranty.. IMHO

Don't forget - it may be only worse (even if you can ignore it by saying to yourself "2 gigs are fine" but remember it may get worse)

Time to participate in this lovely community. :)

My specs are:

Intel Core 2 duo E750 2,66GhZ
2GB RAM
Vista 32Bit Service Pack 1
Geforce 9500GT
22" HP w2216 screen.

Game runs very smoothly at 1640 x 1050 but when I turn on anti ailasing it's like a slug with a half a ton of bricks on it's back. (Even in lower resolution.)

But i'm very happy the way it runs now. Runs smooth, looks smooth.

My desktop (I run the game on maxed video settings) runs the game perfectly smooth and I have even weaker HW than you do, just I have Win XP (could it be that Vista consumes much more of RAM has so negative impact on gameplay?)

Vista Home Premium 64 bit.

Pazvante 12-23-2008 06:58 PM

CPU DualCore AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+
System Memory 2048 MB (PC3200 DDR SDRAM)
Video Adapter NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT (512 MB)
Monitor Dell 2407WFP [24" LCD]
OS XP SP2 32bit

I play at the display's native resolution of 1920x1200, 4xAA, everything else maxed out and no problems.

Much better than Heroes V: it starts/loads/saves/exits faster and it feels smoother. It does use more memory but that is not an issue.
Fewer bugs also. :)

Biostar TF 570
AMD 5600 XP
4 GB OCZ DDR 667 RAM (shows up as 3.2 GB in windows)
512 MB XFX 9600 GT
20" Samsung 206BW
XP 32 bit SP3

It is known that Vista programs always need higher memory requirements. One of reasons is superfetch, wich allocates memory and releases it accordingly to allow programs to start up faster. Not that it helps much, so I disbabled it trough the registry.

The ONLY problem I have is when turning on AA. It's slows the game down so much, it becomes unplayable. Not that I have to, in my current resolution (1680 x 1050 in max settings) everything is as sharp and smooth as it can get.
But that has more to do with my graphics card then anything else.

The engine they used is just awesome. It's an engine that gives great FX and superb animations without the need of a "heavy" computer. The only downside I can think of is maybe the polygon count is a bit lower then any other engine, but nothing you can notice. (also helps to keep the game fast)
