Since you are running Vista have you tried running KB in compatibility mode?

If not try the following:

Locate the KB game icon in your Start Menu -OR- find the executable file. Right click and select properties and then click on the Compatiblity tab. Within the compatablility section, select the checkbox to enable this program in compatibility mode and then select Windows XP SP2 as the OS for the game.

i tried compatibility, it didn't work.... actualy i tried everything changing resolution, window mode, lower graphic... nothing...even the patch from gamersgate didn't work (by the way why is it only offered to gamersgate members???)
only a patch from the maker i think would fix the problem..i mean what kind of bug will make the system crash and restart by itself...weird...
one more think where is the administrator i don't see fhis reply lately...probably hiding...look at the technical problem thread almost 12000 viewer...that's alot of game owner with problems..
by the way my computer is alienware top of the line...so i know the problem is not on my end

For all Vista user to run the game you need to make sure you have all Dx9 files installed, and also make sure your run the game "As Administartor" or it will bug out for ya.
