No, I've just got 4 HDD's in my machine and that lucky one got to be called H:
So, I do see IL-2 Clod in my Windows "Game Explorer" folder....and the path to the game looks correct in the registry, soo......maybe it's time to install to another directory and see what happens. |
Well, that didn't help.

and I guess posting about this in the 1C forum and expecting a formal response was misguided:

Eco,
0xc0000005 is an "Access Violation Error". Try running steam as administrator. ATAG_Colander. |
Hi
This worked for me as I have 2 installations Russian and English. The English version would not launch at all after weeks of trying. 1. Uninstall CoD from add/remove programs, it opens up the Steam dialouge page to remove it from there. 2. Delete the softclub folder C:\Users\Your PC\Documents\1C SoftClub 3. Remove Steam (uninstall) 4. Delete the steam folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam 5. I used a reg cleaner to remove any traces of Steam and CoD Reg Cleaner 4.3 by Jouni Vuorio 6. Reboot 7. Reinstall Steam > download CoD > run the launcher.exe see if it loads. You should see a handshake going on with Steam this can fail a or get corrupted as was in my case, hence this procedure. 8. Make sure TS3 if not running with TS overlay this will stop the launcher.exe running in some cases, mine as well. 9. If all ok apply RC2 patch 10. Have fun |
Thanks for the responses guys....but I'd already tried those things with no luck (and just did again, without getting my hopes up).
I've been trying to fly this dang sim for a long time now.... |
Is the installation finalizing when you launch it for the first time, you might see a .net distribution package run (iirc) as it talks to Steam after a complete reinstall ?
If this process fails it will never seem launch whatever you do. But.... Some have had success reinstalling the distribution packages in the Steam folder, and you might want to update your .net 4 installation. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl....aspx?id=17851 . |
