Yes I'd like to think so and I'm looking forward to the release.:) I share your concerns with regards to third-party stuff, it was actually one of the first things that came to my mind -after the joy of course- when I read the MiG-21 was in development. After reading that it will go through all the official channels I breathed a sigh of relieve. "Unlicensed" third-party stuff for sims usually ranges from mediocre to absolutely crap IMO but the way the devs these days are embracing third-party and giving it full backing is a very good thing for sims in the future. Imagine, the devs can focus on other aspects of their sims while third-party's supply them with planes, vehicles, artillery or whatever for some economical compensation. Way of the future I think for sustaining the simming community.

This is what they should do if they want to play around with jets in IL-2 like they are starting to. Get some Vietnam era jets and make a real fight of it. I'm sure there are many people around who know exactly what to do.

I wish the P51-D would get a Korean campaign and a Vietnam era map with jets and helis. Leave ww2 to 1c.
