Thanks for the nuggets guide link. I am going through it now and trying to practice taking off and landing. I have made 5 attempts of landing, twice I died, twice I wrecked the plane but survived the landing and once I got it right, I think it will definitely be baby steps with this game.

Is there a vsynch option in the game as I didn't see it in the options?

Also as well as the nuggets guide I have seen a thread on another forum of one players ideal keyboard control layout and many agreed that it was really good. Does anyone know the one I mean?

Got to it late, but start flying a bomber like the IL-2 if you want to learn. Flying something like a Lavochkin, or lighter frames like the Mig or unstable Airacobra is a bad way to start. You already need to have a steady hand for more responsive control surfaces with these planes, so flying something heavier like a bomber is recommended. Even the Hurricane is a good plane to start with.
