it's just bots that work with your cookies and history, there's no people sitting on a pc looking at your traffic (well unless you live in the UK and you use some of those hot words ).
Facebook is a classic example of how these bots work: check out the publicity on the page, isn't it weird how they seem to know what you like? Whenever you press a "like" button on a page they store that info. The whole value of Facebook is the fact that it's the world's biggest database of customer trends and info, geographically, ethnically and socially arranged and to which people take part voluntarily. |
When I g00gle "raaaid" I get ads for lithium pellets and Japanese 'real' dolls.

EDIT : I'd rather companies spent money on making their s*** products good, rather than spending a fortune on making their s*** products look good. |

I committed Facebook suicide about 2 years ago because I started to get the feeling that the less I put about myself on the Internet the better. That and the fact that it's fake, over sentimental, knee jerky, vacuous and the single, most targeted, marketing campaign tool on the planet. |
I make a fair bit of money on the side from people (men) who have clicked on the Beautiful Babes link and then don't know how to stop the deluge of BB spam that is hitting their in-boxes. :D
Usually it's the family laptop that gets brought around - and I make the equivalent of £300/hr sorting it out - that is, three minutes 'work' and a quid extra to make a round figure, I'm not a greedy man. |
