I have to agree with Ace: Be aware that the G940 is bugged with the "Reversal Bug" and prone to broken wires in the throttle levers.

Before you invest, do make a forum search for G940 AND "Reversal Bug" and G940 AND Spikes, or at least read the thread Logitech G940...is this a good investment? and the op in the thread G940 MODDING (Warning large pictures)

I bought one, swore a lot and waited (for Logitech) in vain, finally modded it (like MasterTec did) and now I do really like it.

I just received the Logitech G940 stick, connected it and tested it for quick fly with CoD; first it fits my Playseat and next it flies and trims much better then the X45 I had before. I can even configure the pedals for right and left wheelbrakes. The Force Feedback is loose when you make precise corrections and kicks in when you make hard manouvers.
First impressions, I haven't met any problems yet and it feels great.

I read the forum about the G940 and it seemed like a 50/50: one wasn't and the other was very satisfied with it. For now I can say I'm very happy with it too..

Sorry about the SLI; I read on the forum it was working and assumed with my GTX590 and everything on very high detail flying without a problem SLÍ was working again. Too bad to read now it isn't...
I guess very high detail is possible with only one card working on a GTX590 but it should be great when SLI is available.

As is the case for most if not all G940 owners.. The problems start to show up after some usage.. When I first started to notice it I balimed myself.. but it wasnt until I did a calibrate that I noticed the R1 and R2 spikes.. At which time I went to the Logi forums and found I was not the only one with the problem.. Than my rudder started to die too.. I was one of the first to get the G940, the first week it came out, so I waited in hopes the firmware would fix my problems.. It didn't and here I am well over a year later and no fix and it appears that Logi has no intention of fixing it!

So hang on to your recipet! They do have a return policy! I forget how long it is? Some have returned thier sticks 2 and 3 times before they got one that seem to not fall apart within the first few weeks of usage.

Good luck!

3D Monitor

I forgot to mention I have an Acer GN245HQ 3D monitor for 3D Vision.
3D Vision works with CoD and the cockpit is nice in 3D but the landscape shows less depth and seems rather flat as a palette in the background.

Concerning the G940, I'm still happy with my purchase and hope this "newer" version doesn't have any rotary spikes.
Do you need the firmware 1.42 for it to install with Gaming Software 5.10?

Be advised that, concerning the G940, when you demand a replacement before you send your faulty stick back, sometimes you don't have to return the faulty stick at all.

That worked for me 2 times in Germany. :D

Oh no!

I installed that Firmware 1.42 and went flying again, but this time the Force Feedback responded awfully with heavy shaking and no loose zone for fine corrections. I did no changes to FF level and I find it controlling terrible after installing that Firmware. What happened and is this normal?

Now it's time to replace my aging Saitek X-45 HOTAS for a Logitech G940 that fits my Playseat. In fact the X-45 fits more to prop-planes but the G940 is a nice allround for props and jets.

.

keep the x45 throttle and get a CH fighter joystick.

That is unless you want FFB. I have G940 for months, no problems at all. IMHO FFB is a must-have for prop sims.
