Wll, i hope you're right. Sinds the new patch is official I can barely hear machine guns or cannon, either inside or outside. In outside view I can barely hear anything at all. Engine noise inside is about the only thing I can hear. HArdly any engine noise in outside view.

That's encouraging to read. There's always the concern that work is considered done by the devs in a certain area -- such as sounds -- and that further work will now be devoted to other critical areas ( AI, comms, FM, etc). For those of us hoping the Merlin sounds will at least equal the 109 external sounds, it's good to know that perhaps that will be achieved!

Haha, as if the epilepsy filter controversy wasn't enough. Imagine how 1C's lawyers are going to react when the have to cover "falling off chair" insurance.

(I agree totally by the way, bombers should be LOUD!)

1. Bombers are way too quiet for its power/dimension. Especially compared to the great sounds of a 109. Switching External Views from a 109 or Spit to any two-engine aircraft there is a big lack of volume. The 109 is very loud and sounds powerfull whereas the power of a He-111/Ju-88/Blenheim/Wellington engine is barely noticeable. The drone of a Bomber (outside and inside the aircraft) should be almost overwelming ^^ I want to fall off my chair when a group of bombers approach or when I sit in one of them with two engines left and right my ears.

Even though I generally agree, didn't the bombers really have a bit weaker and less aggressively tuned engines than the fighters, even though they had two of them which will cause more sound and resonance? If you have two fans in your PC-chassis of the same type, the sound is really not that much louder than one?

When you are at an airshow the fighters are rather loud but the twin engine aircraft are a bit softer IMO at least? That's maybe cause we often hear late war fighters that are more in the ~2000hp monster supercharger class compared to 2 x ~1000 hp bombers. In 1940 they where not that different so...

Still - I agree that the bombers lack the "fat" sound one really expects in CoD, especially as some of the fighters like the 109 are so awesome now!

Thats what I meant basically. Bombers don't need to have this special monster-agressive sound of a fighters one. Even more they mustn't if they didn't sound like that in RL.
What I want is that they just sound as near to the original engines as they can get. ok I guess this is easy to say, but more difficult to achieve, but I'm sure the devs can do better than the ones right now.

The situation right now is when I'm using the external view or flyby with a 109 and afterwards switching to a single bomber (or even to a big formation of bombers) it's more like: "oh really?? that can't be all!?"
Wheres the drone, the deeper tune of the engine, the overall loudness. Honestly I have no idea of the real sounds of a WWII bomber, but they have been definitely much louder than atm in CloD. My speakers should shake when a formation of bombers passes my view :-)
That would be a great and puts the general atmosphere to a whole new level.

And in case they are fearing accuses by costumers, they should add one more warning screen at the beginning like "Better furnish your surroundings with carpet and pillows to prevent physical damage from falling of your chair when our great and impressive bomber formations pass the screen" I would surely accept bruises all over my body from falling of a chair if I can get that sound ;)

Please fix sound bug that cuts out all high frequency engine sounds when passing or nearing other planes. For example, play quick mission dogfight. When you pass the enemy fighters head on, all high frequency engine sounds dissapear. Most noticable in 109. Havent tested others. Cant really hear rpms properly after this.... really annoying.
