Bah need to read more LOL
Regards |
in the old IL2 COOP onlinewars there where seldom more than 20 players in one mission, ok, bolstered in numbers by AI controled planes :)
For a dogfight kind of war, 32 player max is notvenough IMHO, and to call it MassiveOnlinePlay :D I guess time will tell! But if it will be 'just' airquake between fighters- its no game for me. |

Gaijin is ...
...a sh...., f...... (not allowed to really write what I mean;)) company.
Their "Apache Air Assault" is the proof! Never again a game from Gaijin ! ! ! (sorry, had to post this when I read the name Gaijin) |
And after everything they said about learning from the last one and players' feedback/comments. Looks like they learned the square root of FA.

Hmm.... I won't bother to look it up after the "mmo of 32".
One thing I was hoping for of CoD was a central server (I'd even pay a modest sub) with a much larger on-line capability like 256 players but it doesn't seem likely. |
3 words "world of tanks" , play'd it , moved on. Did not expect anything from that **** game company.

From my gross understanding of the network connections from fooling around with the DOS server box, I think 255 players online in a single server is actually possible. Our server definitely has the hardware to pull it off. We just got upgraded to from a 1gps to a 10gbps up/down connection as well. (Who could ever possibly use that much lol?) Hopefully, we'll get there one day. Once the servers can start using more than one core (even the load), and fixing the other errors/bugs, I think COD online will massively take off.
As far as the WoP, it's strange as they were advertising (at least initially) as a massive online experience, that it would fall really short. Either way, if the beta is free it's definitely worth trying out. I have my doubts, but you never know. |
