well i got a few full crashes that needed hard reset at the plug.
The sound buzzed like crazy when it happened maybe it is sound related or something like that.

I had no probs until the last patch. Have to restart game to get it back. Bit hard with 109 vs-prop in a dogfight.

Oh sure, it could use some improvement but sound positioning and consistancy is working just fine. I used to get the "rolling" sound during take-off stuck playing throughout the whole mission but haven't even seen that happen since a couple patches.

So you might want to check your speaker settings in Windows being wrong or inconsistent with the game settings.

Good luck

Works for everyone else? Have you read the latest patch thread? Also regarding the rolling wheels sound, I've had it since day one and I has been there ever since even though the developers insisted it was fixed. LOL! This is turning into top rate comedy, the developers fiddles with some new lightning effects whilst the sound engine isn't even working properly yet. For me, the point has been reached (reached it after the latest patch) where I simply don't care anymore. Fortunately I've got some grade A games backlogged that I'll be playing until CloD (beta) goes gold -for real this time- in July(?) and I'll check the game out again. Until then, World of Tanks is a good distraction + it's free!:)

Don't worry I'll still be in the forums checking out the progress of the game. After all, you have to appreciate the potential of the game, it's all about the potential, current state is irrelevant.;)

This game Reminds me of a saying
1 step forwards, 2 Steps back:confused:

I have a Gigabyte X58A-UD5 with onboard Realtek 7.1.

After the latest patch (and hotfix) I too had intermittent sound on MP servers. I went into the Steam > SteamApps > Common > IL-2 Sturmvovik Cliffs of Dover folder and deleted the following files:

:: conf.ini
:: confs.ini
:: confUser.ini

I kept my control bindings in a seperate backup file so I didnt have to remap them all again.

I then (in Windows 7) went and did the same thing in [C:] > Users > [Me] > My Documents > 1C SoftClub > IL-2 Sturnmovik Cliffs of Dover folder and deleted the same 3 files (left the bldconf.ini file in place).

I then launched Steam, right clicked on IL-2 CoD and went to Properties > Local Files Tab > Verify Integrity of Game Cache. Steam then re-created the 3 missing files.

Having looked at the new config files there where some noticeable changes between the previous config files and the new ones Steam just created.

Since then, I have not lost sound in a MP game, or the SP for that matter. Im also running GameBooster v2.3 and it has made a massive improvement to my FPS (not sure if that has had any effect on the sound issue).

Either the older cluttered config files are the cause, or its just coincidence that I havent had the issue since deleting them and getting Steam to create new ones.

Maybe worth a try to see if others have the same luck?

Only because chances are it IS your problem since it's more likely, statistically speaking considering only 3 people are getting sound drop outs. That would indicate logically that the patches haven't "broken" the sound.

So although anything is possible, given the indications it might be prudent to check your sound drivers and system stability than go off half cocked screaming that the sky is falling. Believe me there are enough things "broken" that need attention and if you want help with your sound problems it's far better to ask for help in the technical issues forum than driving your wah-mbulance through the front door of the place demanding the devs head on a platter.

Charvel you should check the Hotfix thread on this forum. A LOT of people are getting the sound problem, including me. It's only happened since the last retail patch and it only happens in MP for me.
A couple of solutions have been suggested but havent worked. I'm waiting for the next patch to fix it.
