actually the symbol represents good luck good fortune and the word swastika comes from the sanskrit word svastika. yes the symbol is that old and was used for centuries before the nazi party used it as a symbol.

dont let a very short period of time erase centuries of history.

what do muslims have to do with buhddist, hindu, jainists, etc, etc? you're aware those religions have nothing to do with each other yes?

Well for all the "smart" ones, ever heard of valve and their anti cheat system?
If it detects that your game has something differant than the standard version you get a ban for life, so give it a thought what you are wishing for. If you are really keen on reducing your game to a useless silver disk go ahead.
I guess that is one of the things the pro Steam boys forgot about?;)

actually, the symbol (as used by the nazi party) came to represent one of the worst idealogies to ever unleash itself on mankind, which has damaged the original meaning of the swastika forever.

good luck? it (the swastika) represents a spinning Chakra

" First Chakra (The Muladhara Chakra, Four Petal Lotus) Located at the base of the spine, first chakra rules our PHYSICAL energies. It is the root chakra that aids us in our everyday survival.

MEDITATION:
First chakra is clear, I feel secure, grounded, and stable. I can use good "common sense" to balance my finances, as well as my everyday responsibilities, and still initiate new activities and interest. My eliminatory system functions well, neural activity in my legs and feet is healthy, and my ability to initiate sexual encounters is comfortable and natural. My root chakra is the home of the Kundalini, the Sleeping Serpent. When this chakra is clear and balanced, the Goddess Kundalini Shakti can awaken, and begin her gradual rise towards reunion with Lord Shiva (bringing Enlightenment)."

the whole methodology of the nazi idealogy was perverted

Holocaust survivors, and their families, take a very dim view of what the nazi used swastika came to represent

Well, we're not discussing the use of the svastika in general, we're discussing the use of it as a Nazi symbol, and clearly the one on the german planes was not here to say good luck, it was here to symbolize the Nazi party. A few countries have strict laws about its use, a number of veterans feel sick knowing people would like to fly these colours in a simulation (yes, I know one veteran who is disgusted by the idea that people insist on having svastika in Il2, he's my uncle, and I respect his opinion more than anything else, he suffered from this symbol more than any of us can imagine), if you want to mod it in your own privacy, I don't care, but please don't make it this drama. I appreciate historical realism, but I can also live without a svastika in IL2, I still don't get why it's such a drama not to have them.

Assuming the developers aren't allowed to touch it, I think you'd be better discussing a solution on a forum that is not linked to the developers.

Glad everyone knows it better.
