Recap Operation Sudland

Hey everybody,

Just a quick recapitulation of the mission and experience with it.

First of all I learned that preparation by bombing doesn't seem to work. I thought the smoke would stay from a previous game as long as the game is not restarted. Maybe there are conditions where this works, but in the case of a Capture Airfield game it doesn't.

Without smoke we found that visibility was too good to give the Storch any fair chance of sneaking into the city and carry out his mission. Instead we chose Night / Hazy which works very well too.

Adherance to rules was a problem at the beginning although the briefing was pretty clear, but was sorted in subsequent trials.

I'm updating the mission to reflect the experience. Would be fun to play his again, the more players the better.

I fancy a muck around tonight. If anyone wants to test some stuff for a historic mission out then give me a mail on psn. I'd like to see how long an A-20 can fly and maybe do some maths to see if its a plausible idea for a few of us to do the doolittle raid.

Could have a chat while we're at it!

doolittle raid? see if you can land you A20 on the long pier on dover. that could be your aircraft carrier...take off from there then fly across the channel and bomb france.

Hi Macademic... at de moment I count 3, McQ59, you, and I... only 3 players for the battle?

Tomorrow I will be from 14:30 to 18:00 GMT... if more people come, we can play the mission, if not, a classic team battle games.

See you in the air :)
