I liked what I saw in the "leaked" video's and the screenshots have been impressive. Nothing else can really persuade me short of playing the damn game. Oleg's keeping it old school, the glorious days when screenshots is all you had to pre-judge a game....in magazines you had to buy, before the internet could do high rez images.

We've waited 5 years...what's 20 days.

:)

I love IL2 and I'll love COD but this really is the crappiest attempt at marketing I've ever seen. Half the folks out there can't buy the collectors edition and those that could seem to have had their orders cancelled. People are starting to discuss where to source the map and manual contained in the product themselves. Many people are confusing the product with a ground based shoot em up. Others think it's just an add on for IL2. Some of the articles I've read don't even mention the ground breaking new features and the fact that it's a new product from the ground up. Unbelievable.

I'm only frustrated by what I see because I care about this product and want to see 1C succeed.

Well we cant just blame Ubisoft, there is a forum here for Oleg to show us some video, but so far he has chosen not to use it, he also promised SimHQ an interview but 3 weeks from release we have had nothing.

Videos will be shown when they are made with the "gold" - version, i assume.
By the way, i believe that all readers here will buy CoD, with or without official videos shown, as we are already junkies, needing our next screenshot or inside-info.

Yes, but we will need more newcomers to ensure this project continues in the future! I hope that we will get some tomorrow, also for my own pleasure, but most of all for the reason in my first sentence.

I've been training in my Spitfire made by A2A simulations in antisipation of the release. I'm really hoping to see some in game video tomorrow. That leaked video was fantastic. IMHO, they've got nothing to hide!

Well it's the only logical explanation I can think of. You know how pissed off Luthier was, as well as Oleg and the rest of the team. Sure showing us videos would have been nice (I too wonder sometimes why they didn't just drown us :)) but they wanted to surprise us all a couple of weeks b4 release. This has been Olegs baby for the past 5 years. I can only imagine how excited he was to show us the final version, but that was taken from him, thus taking all the excitement out of presenting it to us. But don't think hes just going to give up on us, or the game. This friday or the next we will see some more good footage. Hopefully in 720p this time ;)

I think the "Where are the videos?" question is pretty simple. Like everything else 1C Maddox does they aren't really happy with anything less than the most perfect possible example they can come up with. I think they are just trying to satisfy themselves with the quality of their videos before they try and appease this sometimes very harsh community with said videos.

I agree and being a programmer I've been there myself. You created it and you know all the faults, many of which aren't obvious at all to most people, BUT,
you keep saying to yourself...I'll just fix this one and then they can see it. Just one more and so on.....

It's very hard to let go when you're a perfectionist.
