Whats up with the Wings of Prey airfield? The image its really "warm" has a red tint to it.

The landscape is good indeed but the airfield architecture is a joke...I would expect such from a Playmobil designer not from someone supposed knowledgeable about these matters!

What are the odds that is close to realistic?

Clearly defined landing fields, clearly defined borders, clearly defined support areas. Kinda looks to me, here I am plain as day, here I am, bomb my butt.

It is a great looking peace time airbase.

The only thing its missing to make it really authentic is all the planes lined up in nice neat rows to aid the work of a potential straffer.

Looks like silverstone

Scale is all wrong. No runway that wide in the UK then (1940) or now. An artist's pipe dream.

WOP terrain does alot of things right. It looks decent, and has very little noticeable pop up terrain, but the maps are tiny. WOP has enough flaws that it shouldn't be that hard to improve upon. The COD developer said their terrain will be better and I'm sure it will be in many ways, but from what I've seen so far there is still room for improvement. I'm hoping to see something better in the final release, but if not, I'm also sure it will be improved over time.

The WOP developers provided constant updates while beta testing then dropped off the face of the earth when the sim was released. Now I hear they are coming back with another WW2 sim, but their maps will have to become much larger for them to be useful other than furbals.

I will concede it is great looking...but an English airbase? with 600X100 m runways? Fighter hangars positioned on the edge of taxiways? Other hangars located in a parking loop (preventing its use)? trees and buiding on the edge of runways? 13 watchtowers in a 400 m rectangle?

Why not do it right instead? It was too expensive in pixels?

If you do something do it right or don't do it...

The scale gets more wrong the more you look at it. But WoP's terrain scale was something silly like 5:1 (miles) anyway.

They just went for the whole processed (and much copied) Saving Private Ryan feel.. somewhere between black and white and the matrix... Thanks for that Spielberg.
