The churches must have been made so as to appease the heads of religion. Only visable reason for it, right?

I guess that must be it.

As for buildings coming apart to easy I took out a house with a single 75mm AP round...1 shot took the whole house out haha....HE makes atleast 1 sliver of sense but Ap...not so much.

Are you sure it wasn't those weak sheds? I've only made AP rounds go through town buildings, not destroy them.

Hopefully this will all be fixed in the next generation of MoW.

KnightFandragon 11-09-2010 02:59 PM

It was a small wooden house but either way, hopefully it is fixed in the next MoW =D Houses might be a good place to hide in AS with infantry...now its bad

Those small log cabins crumble in a few shots with the .50 cal. Before any Men of War patch you could take down many buildings with a 37mm.

I doubt they would survive a direct hit but many other buildings colapsed while the church was still alive. And I guess its cause a lot of churches have been built to last centuries if not more. They are very well constructed. Not something you can tell from all buildings.

Most of the time Allied pilots were told to avoid contacts with churches and civilian areas as much as possible. Of course there couldn't be any guarantee as the bombs weren't guided after all.
Axis pilots might have followed a whole different set of rules.

I would be surprised if any church would be left untouched considering what excelent position for reconosance and snipers it would be.

Usualy before aproaching any city the one thing anyone would do is order to fire at the highest points. Either with planes, artillery or tanks. Simply to get the enemy out. If hes inside.

You know Monte Casino was bombed regardless that no German unit was inside it and the German commander has send a transmission that he will not deploy any there to spare the building. But the allies havnt believed it attacking it and so the troops moved in after it was bombed thinking the allies have attacked it already it doesnt matter anymore to stay away from it.
