It will still not have Pacific...

It certainly could grow as big as Il2, and the potential is there to be much bigger, it is only a question of time.....

The Pacific theatre will be done, after the Battle of Britain, Korea and the Mediterranean are finished then it is logical that Oleg will turn to other theatres, and the Pacific is one of the most important so we will see it sooner or later.

IF...SOW BOB sells well....the SOW series will have every major WW2 theater of operations, and then some. The SOW engine has been designed too constantly improve over the life of the series.

I´m just afraid that in some point,SoW halt the development of IL2 by Team Daidalos.

Il2's got a lot of good years left in her due in a big measure to the efforts that team Daidalos has been puting in to her.

Hopefully all the experience that TD is gaining by modding IL-2 will eventually be able to be put in to content for SOW.

Cheers!

I agree with Skoshi Tiger... IL-2 still has a few good years....but it will eventually be time to move on. The SOW engine is far more capable than the IL-2 engine, so most IL-2 modders will move on, but some will stay, heck their are still people flying EAW.

Personally I will probably never fly IL-2 again once SOW comes out. The emersive difference will be that huge.

To be honest I have yet to even "test drive" all the planes that come with default 4.09 IL2. I have flown most of what the online community call "crap planes" but never tried a Spit 25, even once, for example.

Well, I'd very much like to have an IL2...

If the SOW engine will let us have large maps and aircraft carrier, its only a matter of time before we revist the Pacific.

I personally would like a south west pacific map, North coast of New Guinea and west through Dutch East Indies, Borneo etc. It kind of gets forgotten , with all the emphasis on US Carrier opperations.

I'm on holidays next Thursday and am going on a nine day walk along the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea (Dad fought along there during the war!) Along the way theres a chance of seeing a few relics of downed aircraft. Should be fun!

Cheers!

Have fun on your trip, mate. From what I've read of the environment in New Guinea, I'd skip that one myself. Of course you Aussies are made of sterner stuff than us Yanks. :)

I\m not sure about that! It is definately going to be a hard slog, but We're doing everything to make sure it's going to be 'easy' as possible. We're taking our time and porters are carring the heavy stuff. ("Hmmm! Maybe if I hire an extra porter or two they can carry me????")

It is a very good example of the reasons you don't make holiday plans when you've had a few drinks! ("OH GOD! What have I gotten myself into!")

I'll try to find some interesting pictures to take on the way!

Cheers!
