Yeah, I've not called Il-2 a game in years and I've never thought of the crowd here as gamers (despite the fact that some play consoles - the term should stay with consols).

Flightsims were extremely popular back in the days when people used command line interfaces.

Pretty much doesn't include an IL2 user does it?

Yes,IL-2 is a true game,it´s not made only of graphics and sounds.
Game producers just found out that good looking games with limited gameplay will be played for a short time and then discarded.IL-2 is from 2001 (althought being updated) and it´s still played. And thanks Daidalos Team,it will have an even longer lifespam.I hope SoW can enjoy a long lifespam too.

Another thing is that european games (specially from eastern europe) don´t seem to be very popular on the americas, japanese games are even less.
It was very hard to find IL-2 1946 here in Brazil.

Guod checked with Oleg this past Thursday on the status of Storm of War, and would we see it at this year's E3Expo? He replied back, "We had hoped to show it at E3, but we are not ready yet. SoW is going very good. Can't say superb in terms of time, but good. I'm sure it will be something very good done in comparison to all sims present on the market."

"We had hoped to show it at E3, but we are not ready yet" Ooo..k, some games shown at E3 are not even half finished yet and won't be released for years but I guess Oleg has good reasons for not being there and I guess that reason is finishing the game... ;)

oh, god; they're always "we really hope... but we're not ready... ". if you don't wanna show up jus answer it directly without any additional reasons, "really... but... " makes no sense~~~~

Frankly I am stunned that they are not going, its completey dashed any hopes of a 2010 release.

E3 is mostly focused on casual gamers. They don't care for realistic simulation or weapons effects, but for visual perfectionism. As Oleg posted repeatedly, finetuning optical appearance will be the last step in making SoW.

In other words: Being on the E3 or not doesn't say a thing about when it is going to be released or not. The above was no secret before, so it's nothing to bail out in panic, now E3 is here and these statements turn out to be true.

Besides that, I'd rather like to see the team working on SoW instead of losing 2 weeks for preparation and traveling around the world to LA.

oleg's quotes to simhq sounds like he's suggesting there will be a large delay. 2010 unlikely i reckon.
