Huh? How could they drop it, its already been published by them lol

The developers, Gaijin, arn't tied to 505. Only the game IL-2 BoP is. Gaijin can try to get whoever they want to publish a sequel.

they should change the name, drop the IL2 because im sure general masses are not familiar with that plane.. and maybe put a more iconic plane on the cover.. Ive had friends who picked up "blazing angels" but wont even touch IL2 BOP.. lol

IL2 BoP HAS an iconic plane on the cover, namely a Stuka dive bomber. And thats getting shot to s**t by a pair of spitfires. Cant get more iconic than that. And it doesnt matter of the masses are familiar with the IL2 or not, most know of the previous PC game already. SO adding it to the console version was a way to practically gaurantee sales, specifically from the PC sim crowd. This is because some people seem to forget that just because you have one system (ie PC) that does not preclude you from having another (IE PS3/360).

And btw I have pals who dont give a rats ass what the name is or whats on the cover and play a demo of a title first before buying. For BoP this meant 2 of my mates bought it on release, with a third cadging it from me on occasion when Im not playing. That is what sells games not fancy pants covers and silly names. Good demos for good games win hands down every time.

Shame the most iconic part was taken off for 'artistic reasons', huh. Anyone trying to get arty with a Stuka clearly doesn't get it.

Well the genre has not been forgotten. This spring there will be Afterburner for download on psn and xbox and there is also another ace combat coming to psp. Granted these games are going to be arcade but just stating the flying games are far from being dumped. Hopefully they would make a Over-G 2 and make it a multiplat.

And we are all hoping for a sequal to BOP with more features.

When WoP is properly done they should port that. no il2 name so there shouldnt be any problems (apart from publishers lol)
