It may just be me, but I think when in private chat/play on 360 you cannot hear anybody else. And I don't know what you meant about the music.

the music i mean their both trying to come out the same speaker and music takes priority

i have one of the 360 sets and its great. mic and game volume on different switces, excellent sound quality

This, I have a pair and they're amazing. Maybe the ps2 heaset. It's wired so it never dies, and it is good quality.
