I'm personally begun to work with the textures for the ground that to get them looking close to real colors. It seems that by words and my photo samples is impossible to get the right results from some painters... so final tunes I begun to make myself. And will do in future, like I did it in Il-2 in the past.

Sounds nice - can't wait to see the results in the engine. ;)
