Anyways, the 8 bucks was just a number I found somewhere else on this forum. I have a xbox, so I didnt see the PS3 price myself. And no, I do not think the UK pound and buck are the same. I;ve never mentioned the UK pound anywhere. I use euros, and those actually are about the same as bucks. I will stop the name calling here. So you dont get tunnelvision and can focus more on the rest of my post. And try to find a counter argument for that. |
Ok, everyone is titled to there opinion. It's just a shame the PS3 DLC and the Xbox DLC is priced differently.
I'm sure some of you Xbox users would not be mega impressed if it was priced £3.99 - $5.99 on the PS3 and yet it be 800M$ on the XBox. But could an XBox user tell me if they think it's worth the £7.99 price tag on the PS3? |
It is US$9.99 on the PlayStation(R)Store, 6 new campaign missions and 2 planes: P-47D and the Ta-152.
No matter how you look at it it is overpriced, sure there are no competing DLCs in this genre, but but asking 1/5th of the price of the original game for 1/20th of content... |

I can say I would mind if the prices were the other way around, but would probably blame MS right away, instead of ranting about it on a forum where there's nobody to blame. Here's a very nice review by PedroTheGoat. Try that. |

I just hope for future DLC (whatever the price) they will add some more trophy/achievements. Oh and a Lancaster bomber |

COD1 if my memory serves me right (I'm not too well up on arcade shooters) was released in 2004, before the next gen consoles even. 1946 landed in a time when the 360 had been out more than a year & it shone as brightly as the titles of the time. Compare a combat flight sim with over 250 flyable, cockpit-given aircraft, unrivalled realism to flight models & characteristics, loads of lengthy campaigns & missions, a simple-to-use mission editor, allowing the player to create every imagineable scenario with ease & confidence, total camera control & fully functioning replays & on ...& on..... to COD1. A great 1st person shooter that ... well, lets you shoot the opposition & perform irish 'river dances' as the player weaves & dances his way round thousands of grenades. (Thank the lord for Op. Flashpoint 1). I don't get phased by name calling & so there's no tunnel vision here. The fact remains that the games industry is going backwards in immersion & content for a higher price & that's why I can readily & openly compare the nowaday price of a 3 year old PC release to a pathetic DLC. Hey sure it's on the PC too. Rise of Flight (latest WWI air combat sim) has all aircraft in the title but half of them are locked down to the user until he or she foots the bill each time. |

I could ask why you say I compare COD with IL2. I was Comparing Cod1 with COD5 and BOP with Il2 1946. Or I could ask why you compare this game to a PC Il-2 + 3 extension packs and 10 updates... not giving this game even the chance to bring 1 update before you judge. (the first IL-2 had only 31 planes). But... im not going to do that.. So..back on topic: Got the DLC yesterday, and I personally like it :). The missions are great, too bad the P-47 doesnt fly well though :(. Still a great experience :) |
