Offtopic: Concerning Trackir - I always turn my head when flying in BF3, wondering why it does not work ^^

OnTopic: For me CloD is playable at the current stage of development. I am looking forward to see what comes up...

Speaking of Saitek: As I have two of those x52-bastards, I decided to disassemble one throttle. Those potis inside look rather cheap and the spiking annoys the hell out of me.
Now, the question is:
Are they available in higher quality, if so, where can I get them and finally: will they be compatible with the saitek software/PCB?
Thx.

Well, not really into this stuff.
What you are looking for is linearity tolerance, but first you should find out what resistance your build-in-poti has ( 10K 100K 1K? ), because it's also important for which resistance the chip is build. Or else the resolution and signal-to-noise-ratio will become even more bad.

Normal lin tolerance is +-5%. But a better lin tolerance than +-3% I have'nt seen.
Also important is the angle you can turn your poti. ( 270° 360° 3600° )

Knowledge is grapped through google, wiki and FAQ by producers, so please don't complain.

Thanks for the update.
Really looking forward to the overhauled graphics, hope it fixes SLI.

partially true. The z-axis in the stick -rudder- is a normal pot, subject to dirt/spikes. You need to disassemble the handle and clean it with contact spray from time to time.

cheers,

lol, I once nipped across to my corner shop to grab some milk with my trackir cap on complete with vector clip!! I realised when I was in the shop but decided to front it out despite the odd looks!! Ive got one of those pro clips now to save further embarrasment.

That's nothing. I had a knock at my door and inadverdently I answered with the old reflective dot from the Track IR 1 stuck to my head. Turned out it was my neighbour from down the hall. She was Indian. I still remember the look.

I'm REAL careful now.... even with the hat and track clip.

Thank you for posting luthier. In your last update, you said you expected a 50% or better increase in performance from the new version of the graphics engine. This seemed like an incredible claim. Do you still stand by that, or do you now have a different expectation?

As I'm about to spend more than a thousand extremely hard earned dollars on an upgrade, some honest talk would be appreciated.

The expensive part are the potis (3x15€).

Are these multi-turn (10) pots?

Typically USB circuits work better with 20~50k pots, why use 100k - more subject to pick noise?
