On Fridays we publish information updates about the current situation and the next game. Friday updates and patch are not connected.

But, considering negative mood of users, we can stop to publish information updates on Fridays for a while.

Please don't. Stifle negative users but not yourselves, it is after all, your forum.

I can understand that you are tired of complaints about your product.
However, it seems that not realize of 1 year ago that came out at the sale and is in a phase more than questionable.
As already indicated in a previous post dont know understand or listen to the community, except the people you still unconditionally.
Obviously you are not responsible for the situation of Cod. However, it is the person who has named his company to interact with users of the Simulator. And I am cosciente disrespect towards his person are not admissible.
However, I think that should change some aspects as to how work which they have on the community.

1 An essential aspect is to give more information regarding upgrades that I believe are let or inadequate (this is something very personal each person will have their point of view)

2Nd while it is true that we know are developing a new graphic engine, a good way to reassure the community and help them to identify potential failures is to get updates periodicas (e.g. 1 per month). Obviously with indicators that it is a BETA

3Rd I think that until that does not work the COD perfectly should not get information about the following title. Except for some indicators relative to that developed in the theatre of the battle of Moscow aircraft who will be available. But not focus so much on her already still has not come out to the market and there problems with the cod.

4 º Not give answers as ambiguous as the patch will be any day.
Or will be the day that will be..

This is a set of personal recommendations that I could give to solve their problems with the community.

As a (generally) supportive member of the online community here, someone who appreciates BlackSixes efforts and someone who considers himself to be reasonably patient, I have to say that I think the current strategy of 'no comment' on the patch has become counter-productive and is only serving to increase the general disaffection of many here.

It is obvious that BlackSix is only the messenger and decisions about what info to release are taken by Luthier, so these comments should be taken as directed to him. It is also obvious that given past experiences the policy of 'say nothing' may have been viewed as the sensible one.

I think now though, when the ONLY issue of any importance on this forum to most of us (certainly the ONLY reason why I check in several times a day) is the question of when we can expect the patch, that the issue needs to be grasped in a more head-on way by the devs.

I take on board some of the reasons given by people here as to why they believe there is no need for the devs to address this. In the past I may have agreed with them, but now I think the reasons for not communicating on this are looking tired and unconvincing. I'll give my reasons:

"No need to communicate anything until the patch is ready for release."
It is now 6 months since the previous beta. Excitement has built since before Christmas when Luthier gave indications of expected frame rate increase. The policy of saying nothing is now (imo) needlessly antagonising people.

"People don't understand that B6 can't give any information about the patch or the time after, because they will kill him if something is not like "promised"."

This shouldn't be insurmountable. There is general info that could be given that would go a long way to satisfying people's anticipation and patience and making the atmosphere more 'supportive'. For instance I would appreciate confirmation about whether the next patch will in fact deal only with the updated graphics engine. If so, I would be really interested to be given just a rough sketch of the development progress made in the last 6 months on the other issues we are keen to hear about (AI, fm, DX11, etc) and the planned roadmap ahead for how they will be patched into the game.

I realise that decisions on giving us this info need to be made by Luthier, but once again I think that the current policy has stretched the patience of many of us to breaking point and a subtle rethink could go a long way to releasing some of the pressure that is building.

BigC208 03-14-2012 10:29 AM

I don't understand the silence on the status of the patch. I do understand that it's out of B6's scope of authority. He can only give us what they give him. Keep showing us the BoM progress updates. Don't let a few yahoos screw up the little communication that we have. Keep up the good work B6, it's appreciated.

GF_Mastiff 03-14-2012 10:36 AM

Yea B6 don't let it get to ya most of us are just waiting.
