Haha, funny. I kept thinking of RL examples I could draw from and the closest was the F-104. Man that thing has tiny wings. Anyways, case closed, we understand eachother. Seems though that there are a lot of videos showcasing missing wing-area and sustained flight. I'm worried that realistic settings are enabled in these vids. The loss of 1m of wingtip or more should really result in catastrophic spiral..
