When someone becomes interested in flight-simulations, they will likely do research and end up here, as IL-2 is widely considered the best of the best in its class. It must be understood that most people aren't interested or haven't the patience for historical simulations, so this title cannot be expected to be so robustly advertised.

Because of its specificity and distinction as a genre; most potential customers will find Cliffs of Dover and it will be successful. Not to mention the fact that the developers plan for the game's lifespan to last around a decade into the future.

So true, that's how it was for me. Got hold of EAW just by chance before I was mildly interested in WWII air combat but after EAW I was hooked. Flightsims aren't day one blockbusters BUT I reckon they sell good over time. Still today I find IL-2 1946 and even Forgotten Battles on store shelves, it's amazing! Back to topic though, nice screens Oleg though I almost don't bother looking at them anymore, all I want is the finished game LOL!

Oleg you should explain us why they are orange for some plane ( in il2 1946 it's red...)

Stop complaining or we'll make sure your La gets pink tracers.

I'm sure there are quite a lot of people, especially new to this series or genre, who see those low quality, medieval screenshots, and decide not to buy it, because it really looks not 2007...2010, no way 2011.

These guys are gone then. No money from them.
They won't probably ever take a look at this again.

Conclusion: Holding back stuff is sth. for christmas, but not for serious business.

Ah, Oleg doesn't need the money, he has the new job. Then he really doesn't need to care about how the game sells.

How's life under your rock?

I've already seen that in previous screenshots, some nice English cars, some really fast ones as well!

Thank you Oleg. These are brilliant. Complainers go to hell. The terrain looks immersive as hell.

wheni first go online with this sim i will fly low over the cliffs of dover and shoot down all the over the top nit pickers as they will to busy inspecting the individual rendering of blades of glass or contrast of hedges against the colour of tarmac, they will never see me on there six as they will be to busy looking at there roundals and the ones measuring train lengths are completely going to get it:-P

philip.ed 01-22-2011 12:55 PM

Out of interest, maybe the brightness of the roundel is relative to the game? people have said they feel the grass is too bright; maybe the two are related....?
