Thanks for helping him out with that one aDorante.

LMAO

There's no shame in that..... I have to admit that the first time I climbed into the 109 it confused me too. :D

Then it struck me.... German plane, German compass. :D

Haven't fired that up for some time either but I think you may be right. lol

It was quite funny because I read the "O" as a zero, thought zero must be North and then started turning, staring at the compass waiting to see 90 degrees assuming that would be east. :D

It wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't for the fact that I have a hard enough time getting the planes in the air! :D I really do suggest that, if anyone sees me on ATAG of an evening, they should circle the german fighter airfields and keep an eye out. Some of my attempts at take off are comedy gold. :D (If I can even find the airstrip and don't just collide into some other poor sap's plane. lol)

FG28_Kodiak 04-03-2012 01:43 PM

Take a look on this website
http://www.cockpitinstrumente.de/ins...e/kompasse.htm
and you will see.
Das die Deutschen ein O für Ost verwendet haben.

It is really crisp, unlike the FXAA injectors (With the added bonus of none of that "Hmmm...are you sure I won't lose all my steam games and get a ban using this?" tension. lol). I was really impressed by it! A few people, including me, have noticed some performance boost when using it also (I went from an average of 23 on Black Death to 37 with Morphological on!) so I would definitely recommend having a look at it. Of course there are no guarantees but you may be seriously and pleasantly surprised. :)

Same here, lol

As far as take offs and landings for that matter, make a mini mission with the first way-point as take off. A good way to practice!...ATAG I think has a bit of wind on the field, and can cause some turning difficulties.

Volksieg 04-03-2012 03:37 PM

Not a bad idea... I'll have to have look at the mission builder. :)

I've been using the cross country mission and changing the plane to a 109 but your suggestion would also help me to get used to the german airfields...... and work out where the field ends and the strip begins! (That is the main problem.... apart from the hideous wind conditions you mentioned.... well.... I tell a lie... I think the MAIN problem is that I probably held my breath for too long as a child :D)

Very easy:

select extras/select FMB/select "file" at the top tool bar/choose "load map"/select "English channel-1940"/select "view" at the top tool bar/select "object browser"/choose your aircraft/holding left mouse down and holding shift key down, draw a square around an airfield, you could use the same one as ATAG/hold left mouse down and Ctrl key down on the runway to place your aircraft/do that again at the other end of the runway/ select "waypoint" in the object browser/choose "previous" and set that to takeoff...thats it your done for now, take off!.....make sure take off and landings is set in your difficulties settings or it will be an airstart.

PMSL

EDIT: Hmmmm..... ok...... followed your instructions, Slipball, and when I loaded up the mission, the plane was set to external view and promptly took off and landed whilst I was putting the kettle on. LOL How do I make the plane player controlled and not AI? :D

EDIT NUMBER TWO: Don't worry... it suddenly works now. LOL This is such a weird bit of programming.... I'm convinced this game is possessed by satan. :D

There is a "player" checkbox in aircraft properties (RMB click >> Properties >> aircraft tab).

You can also press ALT-F1 in game while watching any aircraft from external views to enter it as a pilot. ALT-F2 to exit. Aircraft switching must be allowed in difficulty/realism options.

Cheers guys! :) Very much appreciated!

I'm wondering.... is there a way, yet, to record and use radio messages? Something I have noticed is that there is a severe lack of tutorial missions out there that guide you through flight with full CEM. Once I have the knack of it and can pull off some nifty stunts etc, I thought it would be rather fun to create some for a few of the planes where the "Instructor" tells you what rpm you need, when to close your radiator, climb to a specific height etc.....

Another question (My curiosity has been sparked! Thanks Slipball!)... if I set AI enemies, do I need to turn their aggression on or will the attack etc on sight?

If the moderators feel they need to move this clump of posts.... feel free, of course. :)

I dunno.... they say the AI is bad at the mo but I have noticed that the British forces are using some cunning advanced secret technology of some sort! Everytime I see more than 6 of their planes, my plane grinds to a juddering halt.... Microwave technology perhaps? :D

Today's messages from B6 are quite hermetic, even for Russian people in Sukhoi.

Posted by Ph0b0s
Alexander, a question about BF109 E series. Option Messer, version 1.05.15950 play Battle of Britain is another option for WIP? Can we assume that in the future Messer will be processed (not the model itself, namely the appearance)? By the way, is not clear what kind of gibberish (some pixels are blurred almost everywhere, mostly conspicuous on the wings, said at the screenshot with a " ? ")?

B6:
I doubt that will be complete, but I do not have accurate information. Abracadabra - brushes in Photoshop presets, which are applied abrasions.

Posted by Ph0b0s
And one more question. The model of IL-2 for future sequels, "texture" the same man who "texture" Messer?

B6:
No, different people. I cook screenshots ...

Posted by kvach
This could mean that today we are no Cake, ie without the patch? screens or just as a bonus to the patch?

B6:
patch today will not be screenshots and report on the work.

LoL @ Svanen.. that's exactly what I said in .. October/November last year :D
It's almost comical at this stage :)

I remember luthier mentioned something about a "tentative ETA".
Maybe words such as "long-spun" or "protracted" would have been more fitting :)

It wasn't meant to be rude, I just thought what B6 wrote was pretty clear. His post didn't say anything about the patch not being ready before the weekend or the contrary for that matter. We will just have to wait and see won't we?;)

Relax albx, I was just kidding with Furbs, he knows that and I was just joking with you too. I know it's a fine line between joking and trolling/flaming. Humor doesn't always translate so well to the forums. Yes, if you find me irritating the best thing is to ignore me, that's what my girlfriend does too.:)

Guys, i'm started to write my messages without help of Google translator. Will be many errors, sorry.

B6, your written English is coming along great. :) People understand you very well in general. Please don't think my joke on page 105 was directed in any way at you lol.....It was a joke about how Google translate often throws up funny things in any language (Mandarin to English translation is very funny too ). I don't know any Russian at all, so you have my utmost respect for being able to write well in English. :) Just so you know! Keep up the good work, and thank you. :)

That's ok BlackSix, I'm sure we'll understand you.

Blacksix, Do you know if the new engine will allow more FSAA and AAF to be used in CLOD?

Thanks.

Hi Blacksix, obviously we are all itching to hear news on the patch, would you be so kind in future to ask Luthier to go into a little more detail on what progress as been made. Im sure he is aware that the patch is fairly urgent and Im sure you are too, but could you just emphasize that to luthier so he may be inclined to give a little more detail. One more question if i may, is Luthier in the office or is he in California?

Thanks for the reply, could you ask Luthier?

priller26 04-11-2012 08:03 PM

I thought the new engine was "all systems go" except for the particle effects?

mazex 04-11-2012 08:31 PM

Not to stir anything up but here is a fresh Google translate from Sukhoi.ru today (2012/04/11)... ;)

K_Aspid:
Alexander, and this week it will be possible potestit new engine-beta test?

Blacksix:
We're trying to finish work on the beta patch this week. Succeed or not - is not clear.

Luthier:
"Only one relatively minor issue remains that prevents the gunsight, tracers, and bullet decals from being drawn. Of course, this minor technical issue has a huge impact on gameplay, and that is why we cannot release it to the public in its current state."

But that quote is from this post by Luthier that is more than "two weeks"(tm) old:

http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthr...158#post402158

Look at the Google translate I posted above that is Blacksix last post at Sukhoi today instead for some hope!

I quoted, because this is the reason of the delay. If the patch released this week, that would be great, but does not change this.

How'd you know they haven't fixed that already?

It works in some systems, Certainly in mine it does something. Not perfect, but very noticieable.

One relatively MINOR issue..... could this be a major which takes a long time to figure out and fix? Seems so

If you read later updates they said they are working on the particle effects (smoke etc) as it is still causing stutters and they are trying to get to grips with that.

DroopSnoot 04-13-2012 11:19 AM

I try to keep positive but its so easy to get depressed here

mazex 04-13-2012 11:26 AM

OK - nothing new to see here - back to F5 gents!

albx 04-13-2012 11:34 AM

LOL your internet sensors and detectors tell you this.

Dont expect a beta today because they probably exaggerated their progress maybe, not cos "there's somehing in the air"

But still... Blacksix usually comes here the day before saying that we should save our F5 keys for later tours of duty? Not today, he was here and closed the fake "Update" thread but no message that there will be no patch today...

So - I keep the patch dream alive even though the Friday vodkas are soon to be poured in Moscow now...
