It seems like fannying around with the XP version has just caused more (uneccessary) problems for this sim.

Installed it. Colors are very nice. Framerate is good! I cleared my Cache before install. The E4 is a dream to fly. Cant change radiators though. It never overheated. London was pretty jerkey for me but then my puter is pretty old. Cross country is very smooth. No combat yet.

So far:
-I like new colors/lightning, maybe bit too much contrast in cockpits but otherwise very nice and sharp
-new sounds are great, landing gears, stall & g noise, wind noise when cockpit/sidewindow is open etc.
-maybe a bit more micro stutterin at low level but not much
-no crashes so far but only less than hour playing
-E4 automatic prop pitch works, radiator/oil cooler doesen't. And sidewindow opens right direction now. ;)

Post you system specs and start a new thread here asking for help. http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/forumdisplay.php?f=191

Also search for similar threads. Many people have solved the same issue before.

It seems like reducing visual effects to "low" helps to avoid crashes. But maybe just wishful thinking...

Anyone else tried it?

katdogfizzow 10-05-2011 08:38 PM

Thanks to all the guinea pigs...looks like I'll wait for the official release since and skip this beta bc my game is running great as is right now. Must be a nightmare being a developer for this beast...I appreciate all the work. Im enjoying the game...cheers

Confirm. Effects to 'low' stops the freezes, but then you have no smoke, no explosions and no gun flashes (externally).:(

Yes... If we can't see explosions, the game don't crashes when someting explodes... LOL!

But I liked the fact that now some more work is done regards sound. These crashes are really "BIG" bugs, and easy to solve.

Exactly, if they just hot-fix the explosion issue, this patch would be a really great patch, a lot of improvement on my system!
