Need help: First Night Mission in Campaign

The one where you have to shoot down all the transport planes before they reach the airfield, I've tried it several times, can never stop them.

do you have to take out the lights on the ground or does that just waste time?

I'm so ashamed, Arcade mode aswel. lol

I've heard a few people had problems with this mission, however I couldn't see what the fuss was about, and I beat it first time! :D (Keep in mind I played on realistic though, probably much harder on sim).

Anyway, I never took out any of the lights. Just find your targets and sick your wingmen on 'em for extra help. The IL-2 isn't the most nimble plane, so stay patient and don't fire until you have a good shot. Hopefully your wingmen will take a lot of the work off your back.

Not much more help I can give, unless you have anything specific your having difficulties with on the mission?

I found the transport planes pretty easy on this mission, but I did have a problem with being shot down by 109s as soon as I'd downed all the Junkers.

It took me 6 tries to get that mission in the bag..WEP towards the waves of transports.don't worry about the lights..and sick your wingmen on as many as you can..make sure you finish off each wave.if one gets through .it's over..
