Hi experts, could you tell a PS3 newbie how to talk to my player colleagues during gameplay? Does ps3 support some kind of voice system?? Obviosly can't use skype anymore as during original IL2-series...

Thanks

if it has a usb you can just put it in your ps3 when you put it in you have to go to system and there you can turn a switch so you can use your usb headset (a lot of manuals on google) and when you have wireless you have to find another way because i have a usb one:p

Simples! Get a hands free device and connect it via bluetooth. There you have it an authentic WW2 bluetooth coms device :-P

Ok. And PS3 then somehow recognize usb-headset...? And then there is some kind chat/voice server where I connect and meet my friends? Well, have to do some searching then and find out. But anyway, I have to by a PS3 compatible headset first I guess.

Thats one of the good things about ps3, standard usb audio works fine. This would be most usb microphones/headsets.

Theres no "server" per se, just your ps3 friend list and "game mode", by that I mean when you speak and are in a game and speak, all on your team will hear you unless they have selected to have you muted (annoying, toddlers crying, yelling mom/dads etc... and you will be muted quite fast).

Ok. And when I buy a usb mic-headset and plug it into PS3, I can hear both friends (and also talk them) and game sounds from same headset? I would not like to hear engine/MG sounds from tiny little headset put into my other ear. It would great if I could here all from proper headset.

Game sounds will continue to come from your television. Only the conversation with other players is played through the headset. ;)

Ok, thanks irrelevant.
I'm sometimes using not tv but normal computer display for playing and it doesn't have loudspeakers. This is because nobody else in the family wants to hear engine roaring... But there is a way which could take care of my problem. I'll tell as soon as I have time to test if it works.
